JUWI has appointed Thomas Hüsgen as its new Chief Financial Officer
Hüsgen brings more than two decades of experience across finance, taxation, accounting, and legal functions
He previously worked in leadership roles at Zelestra Germany, RWE and Innogy
German renewable energy company JUWI has appointed Thomas Hüsgen as its new chief financial officer (CFO). The company announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post on October 2, 2026.
Hüsgen previously served as CFO of Zelestra Germany before joining JUWI. He brings experience from several leadership positions at companies like E.On, RWE and Innogy, where he worked across taxation, controlling, accounting, finance, and legal functions. He holds a degree in finance (FH) and is a fully qualified lawyer, said JUWI.
The German company welcomed Hüsgen saying, “With his experience in the field of renewables and his expertise, he is an enrichment for us and with the open manner of a native of the Ruhr area, he also fits in very well with us on a personal level.”
In June 2026, JUWI announced that Hüsgen’s appointment would take effect in October as part of a restructuring that will reduce its management board to two members: CFO Thomas Hüsgen and CEO Jost Backhaus. The restructuring also includes the planned departure of Managing Directors Christian Arnold and Stephan Hansen.
Under the new arrangement, Hüsgen will oversee all commercial matters across JUWI’s domestic and international businesses, as well as legal and compliance functions. As part of the broader restructuring, JUWI also announced plans to cut 280 jobs in Germany (see Germany’s JUWI Restructures Business, Plans 280 Job Cuts).
