US-based solar PV tracker manufacturer FTC Solar has announced the appointment of a new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). The new appointee Kent James will be responsible for the company’s North American commercial strategy and execution. He will report directly to CEO Yann Brandt.
He comes to FTC with over 20 years of commercial experience in the solar industry, across sales, operations and strategy. James worked with EPC company Primoris Services Corporation as the senior vice president of sales and development for over 6 years. He was also a founding member of the company. FTC credits him with completing over 7 GW of successful utility-scale solar projects at Primoris.
James also worked with Northern Energy and Power (NEP) in the past where he built strategic relationships for commercial and utility-scale solar and microgrid projects. NEP was later acquired by Primoris. His other employers include Martifer Solar, EyeOn Energy, Tectonic Network and Booz Allen Hamilton.
FTC CEO Yann Brandt welcomed James saying, “His strategic, relationship-driven approach, along with his strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs, will be invaluable as we look to strengthen and expand our relationships and drive significant revenue growth.”
The solar tracker supplier announced a new institutional investor on board in November 2024 that will invest $15 million in the company to support its growth (see FTC Solar Meets Q3 2024 Revenue Guidance; Offers Cautious Outlook For Q4).
