US based solar tracker systems and software services provider FTC Solar, Inc. has announced a CEO transition for the company with current incumbent Tony Etnyre stepping down, also as the member of the Board of Directors.
Etnyre will continue on board to advice the company on strategic matters and business development through a transition period reaching into 2022.
Etnyre will be replaced by the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Global Operations Sean Hunkler with effect from September 24, 2021. "The selection of Sean Hunkler to succeed Tony as CEO results from his extensive experience and demonstrated track record of driving growth and operational excellence across all aspects of global operations for industry leading companies," said Chairman of the FTC Solar Board of Directors T.J. Rodgers.
Before Western Digital Corporation, Hunkler worked with NXP Semiconductors as its EVP for global operations, followed by as CEO of its spin-off company Nexperia. He also held senior leadership roles in SunEdison, MEMC Electronic Materials, Freescale Semiconductor and Motorola.
Recently, FTC Solar reported its Q2/2021 financials and its annual revenues suffered the impact of lower product volume. Management said it will take meaningful actions to mitigate impact of global logistical and elevated cost challenges (see FTC Solar's Q2/2021 Net Loss Widens).
