Maxeon's Performance Line Solar Panels With Topcon Cells Offer High Efficiency, High Bifacial Power Generation, And A Low Temperature Coefficient

Maxeon, a well-known supplier of high-efficiency modules, promotes its flagship Maxeon line of panels, which are based on IBC cell technology and offer high energy density and yield, better shade tolerance, and a 40-year power and product warranty. The company also displayed the Maxeon 7 series during Intersolar, which has achieved a world-record certified module efficiency of 24.7%.

According to a news item from the company, the module aperture efficiency of 24.7% was achieved for a full-scale Maxeon 7 series solar panel. Maxeon also announced that it will be offering 24% efficiency modules of its Maxeon 3 panel, which will be available for shipment from Q4 2023. As of the current offerings, the company’s website only lists Maxeon 6 AC (Maxeon 6 solar module is at 4th position in TaiyangNews Top solar Modules Listing-September 2023) and Maxeon 3 series DC modules with up to 23% and 22.7% efficiency, respectively. The best power rating for these 2 series as listed on the company’s website are 445 W and 430 W, respectively.

Alongside the Maxeon line, the company has also unveiled its newest generation of Performance line solar panels, based on TOPCon cell technology. These panels offer improved aesthetics, increased mono or bifacial power generation, and a lower temperature coefficient for enhanced power density. During the InterSolar, Maxeon also launched a new partnership with electric vehicle charging software company ev.energy. The partnership offers its customers access to ev.energy’s mobility and home energy management services. This partnership is an addition to Maxeon’s SunPower One open and flexible suite of products and services, which also includes SunPower Reserve, the company’s home energy storage system, Insights service, and SunPower One home energy management solutions (see Day 2 Highlights From Intersolar Europe 2023).

As an exclusive benefit to SunPower One customers, those who purchase SunPower Drive will have access to ev.energy’s services. These services include solar surplus charging, smart tariff charging, smart scheduling, and other intelligent use cases that help customers save money and make the most of their solar-produced energy.
