

US-based utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) company developer Jupiter Power has raised $1.4 billion to support 10 projects in Texas and Michigan. The projects have a combined capacity of 1,500 MW/3,600 MWh. The company raised the proceeds across four financing transactions, closed between April 2026 and July 2026. These include project debt, tax equity bridge loans and a US private placement. Jupiter Power says these proceeds expand its total financing since its inception in 2017 to more than $3 billion. It currently has 5.6 GW/19.7 GWh of projects in operation, under construction, or under contract. Another 23 GW of capacity is under development in the US, it added.
On the occasion of the opening of its factory in Pendergrass, Georgia, US energy storage company NeoVolta Power announced a binding capacity reservation agreement with Infinite Grid Capital (IGC). Under the agreement, NeoVolta will supply BESS systems for North Ontario Edge AI data center projects in Northern Ontario, Canada, in 2027. The agreement reserves approximately $53 million of manufacturing capacity at NeoVolta’s Pendergrass, Georgia facility. It is the first binding commercial commitment under its previously announced framework with IGC, which covers about 1.1 GWh of potential BESS deployments and approximately $200 million in potential supply across multiple markets. Recently, the company secured 9 GWh of LFP cell supply from South Korea’s SK On to support its manufacturing from 2027 through 2031 (see SK On & NeoVolta Target 18 GWh US Battery Supply).
Palisade Investment Partners, the Australian infrastructure investor, has acquired 100% interests in two development-stage renewable energy projects through its Intera Renewables platform. The Monogorilby Renewable Energy Park in Queensland, acquired from LP Renewable Projects (LPRP), is planned to include up to 600 MW of wind and 400 MW AC/1,600 MWh BESS capacity. The Winton Renewable Energy Storage and Stability Terminal (WRESST) in Victoria is a 400 MW AC/1,600 MWh BESS project. It was originated by Celero. Palisade says these acquisitions expand its renewable energy portfolio to 2.5 GW on a 100% ownership basis, including 2.2 GW in Australia.
Nova Scotia Power, the electric utility serving Nova Scotia in Canada, has inaugurated three BESS systems with a combined capacity of 150 MW/600 MWh. The three projects, each with 50 MW/200 MWh capacity, are located in Bridgewater, Waverley, and White Rock. Canadian government described them as the largest energy storage facilities in Atlantic Canada. The Government of Canada invested CAD 109 million in the project and grid modernization work, while the Canada Infrastructure Bank provided a CAD 138.2 million loan. The systems are expected to help integrate renewable energy, support peak demand, and reduce GHG emissions by about 90,000 tonnes annually. Natural Resources Canada said that all 13 Mi’kmaw communities in Nova Scotia are participating as equity partners in these facilities through the Wskijinu’k Mtmo’taqnuow Agency (WMA).
China-headquartered Sungrow has signed a framework agreement with German BESS projects developer and EPC be.storaged to expand their cooperation. The partners plan to jointly deliver projects with a combined 1.6 GWh of storage capacity over the next two years in Germany. The agreement covers project planning, development, procurement, construction, and commissioning, with a focus on standardized processes and technical solutions. Sungrow also plans to deploy its PowerTitan 3.0 storage system more widely in the projects.
Leading Chinese battery manufacturer CATL has signed an agreement with BME (Battery Manufacturing in Egypt) to support battery pack assembly and production in Egypt. Under the agreement, BME will source battery cells from CATL, while CATL will provide technology licensing, production equipment, and technical training. The planned facility, to be developed and fully funded by BME, will initially have 1 GWh of annual production capacity. It will focus on battery packs for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. In the future, BME plans to increase the capacity to 5 GWh and add passenger vehicle batteries and energy storage systems (ESS) for solar and wind applications.
Germany-based software company Furo has raised $4 million in funding led by US investor TQ Ventures. Investors also include Neo, Sheryl Sandberg’s venture capital firm Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, and CDTM Venture Capital. The company, which develops control and optimization solutions for commercial and industrial battery storage, said the funding will support further software development, expansion into European markets, and team growth. Furo’s platform forecasts electricity prices, weather, and energy consumption to help businesses optimize battery charging, discharging, and energy trading, claiming it can cut electricity costs by up to 40%. The company said its platform is used at more than 6,000 sites across Germany and Europe.
Hungary-based integrated oil and gas company MOL Group has inaugurated a 37.4-MW solar park and a 20 MW/40 MWh BESS at its Algyő site in Hungary. The project, constructed by ALTEO Plc., will help meet the site’s electricity demand with locally generated power and lower operating costs, according to the company, as quoted by local media. MOL now operates nine solar parks in Hungary totaling 405 MW and two storage facilities with 80 MWh combined capacity. The company plans to reach 500 MWh of energy storage capacity in Hungary by 2030.
