BC modules remained the least represented technology, with their share fluctuating within a narrow range of 6% to 8% across 2024-25
Product representation declined slightly in H2 2025, when the delisting of one BC module reduced the number of listed products from 4 to 3
Overall BC representation remained largely stable over the 2-year period, with changes driven mainly by fluctuations in the total number of listed modules rather than by additions within the BC segment
Analyzing module efficiency by cell technology adds an additional layer of insight to the TOP SOLAR MODULES analysis. While efficiency band trends provide a broader overview, technology-specific assessment helps capture variations and exceptions within those bands. This section focuses on BC technology and reviews its representation in the TOP SOLAR MODULES list (see Product Shares Of Different Cell Technologies).
Starting with BC, the efficiency frontrunner held onto its top position but remained the least represented among solar technologies. Its limited presence underscores both the technology’s exclusivity and the small number of companies capable of bringing it to market.
During H2 2025, BC representation declined slightly. The number of listed BC products remained at 4 from July to October, accounting for an 8% share of the total. In November, Maxeon’s BC module was delisted, reducing the number of listed BC products from 4 to 3 and the share to 6%. It remained at 3 in December as well, while the share increased to 7%.
In the first half of 2025, BC technology maintained a consistent presence, with 4 products listed each month and a corresponding share of 8%. These same 4 BC products – from AIKO, Maxeon, LONGi, and SPIC – continued to represent the technology throughout 2024. However, the technology share stood at 7% at the beginning of the year and increased slightly to 8% by year-end, primarily due to a decline in the total number of listed products.
