Borosil’s Specialized PV Glass In Spotlight At Intersolar Europe 2024

Borosil Renewables Ltd., along with Interfloat Corporation, one of the leading solar glass manufacturers, promoted the latest special application PV glass at Intersolar Europe 2024. The company currently has a solar glass manufacturing capacity of 1,350 tons per day.

Speaking to TaiyangNews, the PV glass maker showcased its latest customized color solar glass suitable for Europe’s BIPV market. The company displayed one sample PV module built with colored PV glass that can be used in buildings or facades. The color glass can be used as back glass for BIPV or roof tile segments to enhance aesthetics while promoting renewable energy. According to the company, this product is under development and yet to be launched commercially.

Besides the colored PV glass, Borosil also launched a grid-printed solar glass with 2 mm thickness, suitable for bifacial glass-to-glass solar modules. The grid pattern over the solar glass is attributed to enhanced light utilization, resulting in increased power output, added the company. This commercially available model is being exported to India, the Middle East, USA, and Europe.
