Coveme, one of the leading photovoltaic (PV) backsheet manufacturers, showcased its latest models suitable for multiple types of PV modules at Intersolar Europe 2024. The company with 2 production bases in China and Italy, currently handles 20 GW production capacities/year.

Speaking to TaiyangNews, the company highlighted its multiple types of PV backsheet films suitable for application scenario PV module fabrication at the show. Coveme’s backsheet under the dyMat® brand is made of 2 layers of high-grade PET laminated with a special adhesive.

Solution for Utility

Coveme’s dyMat® transparent high-grade PET backsheets are employed as an alternative to rear glass in bifacial modules. The company offers both white and black meshed selective grid backsheets suitable for TOPCon, HJT, and PERC PV module. The PV modules protected with Coveme dyMat® Transparent backsheets, tested by Fraunhofer ISE in DHT 3000 hour Highly Accelerated Damp Heat Stress test show <7% power drop, it added .

Besides the transparent backsheet, the company also promoted its bestselling standard high-grade PET-based backsheet under the dyMat® brand. This backsheet is suitable for 1500 V DC system voltage utility-scale projects, noted Coveme.

Solution for distributed generation (DG)

The company offers high black reflectivity PET-based backsheet for DG application. This product can be a mono-layer or double-layer version topped with a specially developed high-reflectivity black coating. According to Coveme, this product, featuring more than 55% reflectance, balances the intrinsic light absorption of black color by a patented technology.

Floating application

Moreover, the standard transparent and black color backsheet promoted by Coveme is a special high barrier backsheet suitable for floating or offshore application PV modules. This model’s very low water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) can be attributed to the backsheet’s barrier layer of aluminum or PET. Coveme explained that the high-barrier backsheet with 3 different degrees of barrier properties, is suitable for multiple cell technology PV modules – TOPCon, HJT, and thin-film.

Lightweight flexible PV module

The company showcased its latest dyMat® clear PET-based frontsheet for lightweight flexible PV modules instead of a PV glass front cover. This special type of frontsheet, featuring high UV and hydrolysis resistance combined with anti-scratch and anti-abrasion properties, can be of 1000 V and 1500 V maximum system DC voltage version.

All the above commercially available backsheet models are manufactured in accordance with sustainability practices - low carbon footprint, PFAS-free material, recyclable, and rPET, according to Coveme.
