EcoG wins E-Mobility Award for EcoG Connect, which cuts charging costs by 25% through real-time demand-based power allocation
The system is hardware independent, compatible with multiple dispenser manufacturers, and capable of delivering up to 1 MW of power
EcoG Connect will be deployed across 5 European regions by year-end, with plans for North American market entry underway
EcoG, a global IP and technology company headquartered in Munich, Germany, won The smarter E AWARD 2024 in the E-Mobility category for its EcoG Connect application. This solution addresses the need for cost-effective expansion of high-performance fast-charging infrastructure.
EcoG's central power units are designed to minimize costs by distributing power across charging points(dispensers) based on demand, eliminating the need to provide full performance at each charging point. This approach reduces the maximum installed charging capacity required, leading to potential cost savings of up to 25%, according to EcoG. The EcoG Connect power block, a unit comprising power modules and a switching matrix, addresses this challenge. The switching matrix enables the charging power to be allocated between charging points as required.
The system is hardware independent and already compatible with dispensers from many different hardware manufacturers. One EcoG Connect unit is capable of providing and allocating up to 1 MW of charging power. EcoG plans to deploy this solution across 5 regions in Europe by the end of the year. It is also preparing to introduce the concept to the North American market, signaling expansion possibilities.
