HJT Technology Share In TOP SOLAR MODULES

The TaiyangNews TOP SOLAR MODULES analysis shows that HJT maintained a stable product count over the 2-year analysis period

Gradual Uptick: HJT’s share rose from 16% at the start of 2024 to 20% by the end of 2025, while the number of listed products increased from 9 to 11, with share gains partly supported by a declining total product base. (Source: TaiyangNews)

Key Takeaways
  • HJT continued to be consistently represented in the TOP SOLAR MODULES list, with its share linked to the size of the overall listing

  • The number of listed HJT modules remained largely steady at 9, with only brief deviations during 2024 and 2025

  • HJT’s share increased toward the end of 2025, rising from 18% in July to 19% in November and 20% in December

Following the review of BC technology, this section examines heterojunction (HJT) technology and its representation in the TOP SOLAR MODULES list. The focus is on changes in product count and share over time, rather than on efficiency levels, to understand how HJT’s position evolved relative to other cell technologies (see BC Technology Share And Representation).

During H2 2025, the number of listed HJT products remained unchanged at 9, while the segment’s share also remained steady at 18% until October, then changed to 19% and 20% in the 2 consecutive months. This is due to the reduction in the overall number of listed modules in the TOP SOLAR MODULES list. In contrast, during the first half of the year, the HJT segment saw an addition and a deletion. The year began with a decline following the delisting of Akcome’s HJT module, bringing the product count down to 8 and the corresponding share to 16%, a reduction of one product and 1% in share compared to the December 2024 level. The segment remained unchanged till May. In June, the count increased to 9 with the entry of Jetion Solar, whose HJT module debut lifted the segment’s share to 18%.

In 2024, HJT began the year with 9 products and a 16% share in both January and February. In March, Canadian Solar’s HJT module was delisted, reducing the count to 8 and the share to 14%. This level was maintained until September. In October, Grand Sunergy joined the listing with its HJT module, raising the count back to 9 and increasing HJT’s share from 15% to 17%. This level was maintained through the end of the year.
