

Jolywood showcased encapsulation and backsheet solutions for TOPCon, BC, HJT and perovskite technologies
Its TOPCon configurations combine EPE and EVA films in both glass-backsheet and dual-glass modules
The company highlighted reinforced front- and backsheets for ultra-light modules and a double-beam alloy-steel frame
China-based PV materials and module manufacturer Jolywood showcased encapsulation films, backsheets, reinforced sheets and module-frame solutions at SNEC 2026.
For TOPCon modules, Jolywood presented separate encapsulation configurations for glass-backsheet and dual-glass designs. For the glass-backsheet structure, the company proposes to use EPE on the front and white EVA on the rear, both designed for acid resistance. The company says this configuration can further be combined with a transparent grid, high-reflectivity black or white CPC backsheet. For dual-glass configuration, the company recommends high-transmittance EPE on the front and EVA on the rear.
Jolywood’s encapsulation portfolio also included reinforced EPE for enhanced reliability. Its light-transmission-enhancing film is designed to allow more sunlight to reach the cells. The company also showcased a light-conversion film that converts UV light into longer-wavelength blue light, and an EPE product for cells incorporating poly fingers.
For next-generation technologies like perovskites and heterojunction (HJT), Jolywood promotes TPO, a high-volume-resistivity white encapsulant film, and a polyisobutylene (PIB) based butyl sealant.
As a leading backsheet manufacturer, Jolywood showcased transparent grid, high-reflectivity black, and white CPC backsheets. Although the shift toward dual-glass modules has affected backsheet demand, backsheets continue to offer advantages for lightweight modules, distributed rooftop systems and BIPV applications, said Chen Guoqing, Technical Director of Product at Jolywood New Materials.
According to Jolywood, its transparent grid backsheet combines high light transmittance and lower weight and is designed to increase power generation. The company is targeting the product at residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) projects.
For ultra-light modules, the company showcased 2 reinforced polymer films for enhanced reliability: the JW-5050 transparent frontsheet and the JW-5070 backsheet. The 350 µm JW-5050 combines a glass-fiber reinforcement layer with a fluorine-containing outer coating. JW-5070 uses a CPC structure comprising a reinforcement layer between fluorine-containing coatings. Its air-facing side is white, while the EVA-facing side can be white or black. The backsheet measures 550 µm ±10%. According to Jolywood, its surface can be customized with grid or high-reflectivity patterns in different colors.
Building on its established materials business, Jolywood has expanded into module frames. Jolywood also presented a double-beam alloy-steel module frame. Its profile combines a load-bearing beam with a reinforcing beam. The company says the load-bearing section provides longitudinal bending resistance, while the reinforcing section allows limited deformation to relieve stress on the module glass. The steel frame offers up to 3 times the structural strength of a conventional aluminum frame, while reducing the carbon footprint by more than 80%, adds the company. It uses a zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating to protect the steel against corrosion.
