Satinal’s STRATO EVA Solar PV line includes clear, HLT, white, and black variants with minor specification differences
All variants are ultra-fast cure films with a tensile strength of 15 MPa
Transparent types offer over 91% light transmittance; UV cut-off is 360 nm for the clear film
Italy-based Satinal appears for the first time in the TaiyangNews Backsheets and Encapsulation Market Survey. The company’s STRATO EVA Solar PV films, introduced in 2021, include clear, high light transmittance (HLT), white, and black variants. These encapsulants are produced in Italy and distributed across European markets.
In this latest survey, we have data for 4 of these EVA films with small changes in specifications – STRATO EVA Solar PV, STRATO EVA Solar PVHLT, STRATO EVA Solar PV WHITE, and STRATO EVA Solar PV BLACK. These encapsulants are available in clear, high light transmittance (HLT) as well as WHITE and BLACK versions. All films feature an ultra-fast-curing class, a thickness range of 450 to 500 µm, and a standard width of 2,400 mm. They have a density of 0.96 g/cm³, boast a tensile strength of 15 MPa and an elongation of > 600% in both MD and TD directions.
Adhesive strength to both glass and backsheet is > 140 N/cm. In terms of optical characteristics, the transparent variants provide high light transmittance of > 91%, ensuring optimal energy absorption. The clear version has a UV cut-off at 360 nm and the HLT version at 300 nm. Additionally, they have a refractive index of 1.48 and a volume resistivity of > 1 × 1015 Ω cm. Satinal's STRATO EVA Solar PV films are made in Italy and are readily available across Europe.
