Nextpower remained the global market leader in solar trackers in 2024 with 28.5 GW shipments and around 26% market share, marking its 10th consecutive year at the top
Arctech moved to 2nd place globally, while Array Technologies dropped from 2nd to 5th, reflecting shifting competitive dynamics among leading suppliers
The survey covers both globally ranked suppliers and new participants, providing insights into the broader supplier base in the tracker industry
Alongside demand-side developments in the solar tracker market, industry rankings published by market research firms such as Wood Mackenzie and S&P Global provide insights into the market positioning of leading tracker manufacturers (see Solar Tracker Demand Across Global Markets).
According to both reports, Nextpower (formerly Nextracker) retained its unprecedented leadership of the segment. According to Wood Mackenzie’s Global Solar PV Tracker Market Share 2024 Report, Nextpower remained the world’s largest solar tracker supplier in 2024 – its 10th consecutive year at the top of the global rankings. The company shipped 28.5 GW, a 39% year-on-year increase, and captured 26% of the global market, while S&P Global estimates its share at 25%. Wood Mackenzie states that Nextpower expanded its presence in every major region of the world in 2024 and notes that it is among the leading suppliers in Europe, alongside Solar Steel.
The 2nd place, however, saw an interesting twist, with Array Technologies and Arctech swapping ranks. Array, which was placed 2nd in 2023, is now ranked 5th, as Arctech makes a big leap from 5th to 2nd. The 2 companies had an estimated market share of 15% and 9%, respectively, in 2024, in line with their revised rankings. Array’s fall, according to Wood Mackenzie, also widened the gap between the 2 major US-based suppliers, Nextpower and Array.
The 3rd and 4th ranks, however, were retained by their original occupants in 2023 – GameChange Solar with a 12% market share and PVH 9%. Among the top 5 suppliers, only the market leader Nextpower and PVH participated in the survey, while the following 3 missed sending data by our editorial deadline.
In fact, PVH is a new entrant to our survey. PV Hardware (PVH) is a global solar tracker manufacturer headquartered in Spain. The company has supplied around 40 GW of solar trackers worldwide, delivering systems for more than 500 PV plants across 45 countries, according to company disclosures. According to S&P Global, PVH accounted for around 9% of global solar tracker shipments in 2024, placing it among the leading tracker suppliers.
PVH’s tracker portfolio is deployed across utility-scale projects, with a strong presence in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. The company focuses on markets with large-scale ground-mounted PV deployment, including Southern Europe, the United States, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Among other participants, Antaisolar ranked 9th globally and 6th in the Asia-Pacific region, according to both S&P and Wood Mackenzie. The latter places the company 6th in a few other key markets, such as Latin America and China. Antaisolar reports global tracker shipments of 8.52 GW in 2024, bringing its cumulative shipments to 41.7 GW by the end of the year. Antaisolar claims leading positions in Japan, the Australian distribution segment, Southeast Asia, Mexico, and the Chilean distribution market. Looking ahead, the company expects its strongest growth to come from Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Despite an overall slowdown in the European market, the company stands out, relying on the YoY shipment growth it has already achieved. Antaisolar highlights Southeast Asia – particularly Malaysia and Indonesia – as a key focus market, while noting rapid expansion in its activities in Africa.
TrinaTracker, the tracker arm of leading integrated cell and module maker Trinasolar, is creating its own space in the growing tracker segment. TrinaTracker primarily focuses on utility-scale projects, with a smaller share in commercial applications. Its portfolio includes both tracking systems and fixed-tilt structures. By the end of 2024, the company had successfully delivered solar tracker systems totaling over 27 GW across more than 60 countries, while its global production capacity now exceeds 15 GW. In 2024, TrinaTracker shipped around 8 GW of ground-mounted solutions, comprising 5 GW of trackers and 3 GW of fixed-tilt systems. For 2025, the company targets 10 GW of total shipments, including 8 GW of trackers and 2 GW of fixed-tilt structures (see Solar Trackers Drive System Value In Utility PV).
Sunchaser Structures from India is participating in the TaiyangNews Tracker Survey for the first time. While new to the survey – and not listed in S&P/ WoodMac rankings – the company has more than a decade of experience in the trackers segment, having served as an OEM supplier to several German tracker manufacturers and exporting its products to over 30 countries. This OEM background enabled the company to build strong capabilities in tracker design evolution, project execution, and quality management.
Sunchaser manufactures more than 99% of its tracker components in-house, including pipes, roll-formed structures, clamps, actuators, fasteners, hot-dip galvanized parts, welding assemblies, laser-cutting, and controller assembly, with motors being the only major bought-out item. The company commercialized its first self-branded tracker in 2021 with a 2.5 MW installation. It then scaled production capacity to around 50 MW per month by 2022, typically operating at about 50% utilization. Since then, Sunchaser has expanded its manufacturing capacity to 200 MW per month, approximately 2.5 GW per year.
All Sunchaser trackers installed in India are supplied under the company’s own brand, while OEM output is exclusively for export markets. Sunchaser has shipped more than 250,000 bearing units and over 10,000 controllers to date, according to Chintan Patel, CTO of Sunchaser, emphasizing the company’s field-proven scale across both domestic and international projects. Sunchaser reports installing close to 1 GW of trackers annually and operating more than 100 active sites across India, making it one of the most widespread tracker suppliers in the country by project count, according to Patel.
