Mechatron continues to feature an extensive portfolio of dual-axis trackers in this year’s survey. The company has consolidated specifications for its M18KD, M18KD-20, M16KD, and M10KD products into a single survey entry, with the latest listing incorporating several specification updates. 

Mechatron’s DAT systems are based on a gearless hydraulic double-drive configuration and can rotate across the full azimuth range from -180° to +180°. The zenith rotation capability, previously specified at 0° to 80°, is now revised to 0° to 30°. These trackers accommodate 90 modules arranged in a 10×9 configuration, compared to the 10×10 arrangement listed previously. The systems support all module types and are compatible with both 1,000 V and 1,500 V string voltages. 

The trackers are designed with Mechatron’s proprietary MechGrip clamp system and feature an array height of 5 m. The structures use galvanized steel and maintain a C6 corrosion protection rating. The operating temperature range remains between -40°C and +90°C. 

The company states that the trackers are engineered for operation across diverse climatic conditions. The mechanical components are rated to withstand 3-second wind gusts of up to 173 km/h in the standard configuration, while optional versions supporting wind loads of up to 217 km/h are also available. The trackers additionally feature a self-stow safety position with wind-speed-activated brackets for storm protection. Coatings are applied according to standards such as ASTM-A653 G91 to support long-term durability and corrosion resistance. 

The systems are powered through standard 3-phase grid inputs. The updated drive mechanism is a gearless hydraulic double drive with 1° positioning accuracy, powered by a 0.55 hp motor. Tracking control integrates astronomical and clock-based updates, while the systems also include sensors for wind, wind direction, and snow monitoring. 

Communication is supported through RS-485/WiFi and Ethernet interfaces for integration and monitoring. Mechatron also provides PE-stamped structural calculations and drawings, online training, commissioning support, and monitoring compatibility. The trackers have a delivery lead time of 3 to 4 months, with distribution focused on the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The company offers a 20-year warranty covering the structure, motor, and electronics.
