Megasol Energy Ltd., a fairly new name in Europe’s niche building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) module segment, showcased its MATCH Tile solar roof at Intersolar Europe 2025. A quick stop at the company’s booth gave the TaiyangNews team some brief insights into the product.

Product Description

The MATCH Tile system combines aesthetic appeal with functional solar performance, making it ideal for architecturally sensitive applications where visual integration is a priority. The system includes 2 tile variants: MATCH Tile M64-HC20 totallyblack F4 N and MATCH Tile M25-HC8 totallyblack F2 N.

The M64-HC20 model, a fully black module, incorporates 20 RearCon M6-size (166 × 83 mm) half-cut cells and delivers up to 64 W of power with a conversion efficiency of 18.32%.

The M25-HC8 model includes 8 half-cut cells of the same size, providing up to 25 W of power at an efficiency of 14.66%.

Both models are laminated with Fjord-type glass on the front and rear sides. The larger tile measures 465 × 915 mm, while the smaller one measures 465 × 455 mm. Their black-colored cell spacing enhances the modules' sleek, all-black appearance, although fully Terracotta versions are also available upon request. Both tile types are rated for an operating system voltage of 1,000 V DC.

Durability & Safety

Engineered to withstand Europe’s harsh weather, the MATCH Tiles are certified for hail resistance up to Class 5, capable of enduring 50 mm hailstones, and can handle snow loads up to 13 kN/m². For fire safety, the tiles use heat-resistant glass on both sides and a steel construction, minimizing the risk of combustion from overhead sources.

Megasol offers a 10-year Swiss product warranty, a 25-year performance warranty, and claims a service life of up to 50 years for its MATCH Tile products.
