RenewSys offers 2 polyolefin-based films, CONSERV E 360 and CONSERV E UVT, to the non-EVA portfolio
Both provide 12 MPa tensile strength, 500% elongation, and 91% or higher light transmittance
UV cut-off is 330 nm for CONSERV E 360 and 230 nm for CONSERV E UVT
The TaiyangNews Backsheets and Encapsulation Market Survey 2024/25 lists encapsulation products in 2 categories: EVA and non-EVA. A total of 14 manufacturers responded to this year’s survey, submitting data for 91 encapsulant products – 53 in the EVA category and 38 in the non-EVA segment. Indian company RenewSys has provided data for 2 polyolefin-based products for this section of the survey – CONSERV E 360 and CONSERV E UVT. They have the same specs except for the UV cut-off, which is 330 nm for the former and a lower 230 nm cut-off for the latter.
The light transmittance of ≥ 91% is common for both products. They have a thickness range of 400 µm to 650 µm and a standard width of 1,300 mm. The tensile strength and elongation at break are 12 MPa and ≥ 500%, respectively. The shrinkage rate in the MD direction is ≤ 2% and ≤ 1% in TD.
These films are suitable for lamination temperatures of 150 to 165°C with a vacuum time of 6 to 10 minutes and 12 to 16 minutes of press time. They have a volume resistivity of 1 × 1016 Ω cm and a water absorption rate of 0.1%.
