Sunchaser Structures introduces the Airavat 1P tracker with bifacial support and 140-module row length
The system is designed for durability, with corrosion-resistant materials and wind tolerance up to 180 km/h
The company provides a 15-year structural warranty and a 5-year warranty for motor and electronics
The 4th TaiyangNews Market Survey on Solar Trackers features 32 products from 17 suppliers. A total of 6 companies are featured for the first time.
India-based Sunchaser Structures, one of the 6 new entrants, has provided data for its single-axis tracker Airavat, introduced in 2021 and manufactured at its fully in-house facility. The tracker supports bifacial operation and accommodates a typical row length of 140 modules in a 1P configuration.
Airavat uses a wide mix of corrosion-resistant materials. It is based on structural elements, such as Magnelis, JSW Magsure, or PosMAC coatings for the columns and torque tube, while other components – including drive-tube bearings, purlins, and electrical enclosures – also feature protective surface treatments. The array height starts at 1.2 m and above, and it operates in a temperature range of -10°C to +70°C. It supports a GCR of 38%.
The tracker is designed to withstand high wind speeds of up to 180 km/h. It uses a 0° stow position for wind protection. The system adheres to C5 corrosion-protection standards and uses Sigma and CEE foundation profiles. The self-powered DC tracker draws power from the PV string and is compatible with string voltages ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 V DC. Tracking motion is driven by a linear actuator paired with a geared DC motor, offering ±2° precision and ±60° tacking range.
The design includes an 80 mm gap between the module and the torque tube, supporting enhanced rear-side irradiance capture. The control system features Astronomical Almanac (AA)-based tracking, backtracking capability, and sensors for wind, inclination, and temperature. The tracker uses LoRa-based wireless communication for control and monitoring and supports automated nighttime stowing. The Airavat tracker supports system monitoring and is compatible with robotic module-cleaning systems.
The tracker is IEC 62817 certified. Sunchaser provides a 15-year structural warranty and a 5-year warranty for the motor and electronics. The company says it begins delivery in around 2 weeks and completes dispatch in 2 months. It highlights features such as the multi-drive mechanism, scalability from 1 MWp to over 100 MWp, with distribution across India and Africa.
