Key Takeaways
  • SVECK’s POE films maintain the same listed specs as before, but include updated thickness and width options, now ranging from 400 to 800 µm and 970 to 1350 mm

  • The films support lamination between 143 and 153° C, with a vacuum time of 5 to 8 minutes and a press time of 12 to 15 minutes

  • Both models offer 18 MPa tensile strength, 90% transmittance, and adhesion strengths of 70 N/cm to glass and 50 N/cm to backsheet

Sveck, a leading EVA supplier, continues to participate in the non-EVA section of the TaiyangNews Backsheets and Encapsulation Market Survey 2024/25 with 2 POE-based products – SE-556 and SE-557. Originally introduced in 2015, both films retain their core specifications while featuring minor updates in dimensions and processing conditions over the past year. Supplied in a standard thickness of 500 µm and 985 mm width, the company is also ready to offer the product in other dimensions – 400 to 800 µm thickness and width ranging between 970 and 1,350 mm. The company recommends that the modules that use this POE encapsulation material be processed with a vacuum time of 5 to 8 minutes and a press time of 12 to 15 minutes. It supports a lamination temperature range of 143 to 153°C. All these aforesaid parameters are slightly adjusted compared to last year. The SE-556 and SE-557 are offered in a transparent form with an embossed surface finish (see Sveck's EVA Films With Varying Thermal & Mechanical Properties).

These models have a tensile strength of ≥ 18 MPa in both directions and exhibit a 70 N/cm glass adhesive strength and 50 N/cm for backsheets. The POE films have a 90% transmittance for wavelengths between 380 and 1,100 nm and water absorption of 0.05% wt. The products are rated with a refractive index of 1.48 and 1×1015 Ω cm volume resistivity.
