India's national utility NTPC Limited has launched a floating solar PV project tender for 56 MW installed capacity in the state of Jharkhand on a grid-connected basis. 

The project will need to be stationed at NTPC's North Karanpura Thermal Power Station location, which will be financed by the utility's own resources. 

Broad scope of work involves designing and development of the project along with commissioning and grid connection. Operation and maintenance (O&M) for a period of 3 years is also expected from the winner. 

The selected company will also be responsible for the supply of floaters, installation, anchoring, fixing of floaters for SPV panels, pathways for the floating system, including fixing of PV modules on floaters. 

The tender was published on October 12, 2023. Bids will be accepted till November 17, 2023, according to the announcement with NIT no. RE-CS-5801-004-9

In February 2023, NTPC's green energy arm NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) was looking for bidders for 310 MW floating and ground-mounted solar PV capacity in Jharkhand for Damodar Valley Corporation reservoirs (see NTPC Launches 310 MW Solar PV Capacity Tender).
