State-owned Indian utility NLC India Limited has launched a call for 1,850 acres of land and transmission infrastructure for the development of the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected solar PV project.  

Interested bidders need to arrange requisite land on a freehold/leasehold basis, or a combination of both, for a minimum period of 29 years and 11 months. It could be government or private land in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana with a minimum average solar irradiation level of 1,850 kWh/m². 

Multiple land parcels will be accepted, provided a single parcel has 40 acres or higher. All land parcels will have interconnection with the common pooling substation and must be located within 50 km of a central transmission utility (CTU) station.  

Winning bidders will be responsible for securing permits/NOC/approval/clearance for land to set up the project. Winners will be required to install and commission the solar PV project and ensure its power evacuation package and connectivity. 

O&M of the pooling substation and associated equipment, EHV transmission lines for the solar project will also fall in the purview of the developers for a period of 3 years from the date of commissioning. 

NLC issued the call on behalf of its subsidiary NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL). The last date for bid submission is December 23, 2025. Details under Tender No. 2526000223 are available on NLC’s website
