NTPC REL Seeking Contractors for 1 GW Solar PV Projects

  • Tender for BOS package with land for up to 1 GW solar PV capacity has been launched by NTPC REL
  • It also offers an additional 500 MW under green shoe option for ISTS connected projects
  • These facilities can be located anywhere in India except for the State of Rajasthan

The renewable energy arm of India’s state-owned utility NTPC Ltd, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) seeks to award a balance of system (BOS) system package with land for interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected solar PV projects with up to 1 GW capacity located across India, with an additional 500 MW available under greenshoe option.

Referring to all electrical and wiring works related to inverters, batteries, combiner boxes and the like barring solar modules, constitutes a BOS package for a solar power system. NTPC REL will provide its own solar modules under open category.

For this tender, solar power projects will be ground mounted with an individual capacity of at least 50 MW or higher in multiples of 10 MW.

Selected vendors can quote a minimum of 100 MW, and a maximum of 1 GW in multiples of 50 MW to put forward their candidature for this tender.

NTPC REL issued the tender on January 25, 2023 and will accept bids from interested companies till March 21, 2023. The same day it will open the bids. Details are available on NTPC’s tender website with notice inviting tender (NIT) no. NRE-CS-5784-004(BOS)-9.
