Key Takeaways
  • NTPC REL has launched a tender seeking EPC contractors for 795 MW of solar PV capacity

  • This needs to be installed as 2×275 MW and 1×245 MW projects at the Khavda RE Power Park

  • Robotic solar module cleaning system and supply of solar modules will also form part of the job

The subsidiary of India’s state-owned utility NTPC Limited, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited bidders to award an EPC package for the development of 795 MW solar PV projects at Khavda Renewable Energy Power Park in Gujarat.

This capacity needs to be delivered at the Rann of Kutch as 2×275 MW and 1×245 MW projects.

The brief scope of work involves design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the PV projects. Supply of solar PV modules is also part of the job.

Winners will also be required to design and construct tracker-based module mounting structures for PV panels along with fixing of the modules and their interconnection.

Robotic module cleaning system, including supply and installation of all accessories, will be acceptable where in 25 years of design life will need to be certified by the bidder for C4 category corrosion environment.

NTPC REL launched the call on July 10, 2024, setting the last date to submit bids as August 13, 2024. Details of the tender with notice inviting tender (NIT) no. NRE-CS-5779-004(EPC2)-9 are available on NTPC’s tender website
