The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited proposals from interested solar power project developers to set up 1,785 MW grid connected PV capacity in the state of Rajasthan. It will form tranche IV of its large scale grid connected solar tenders for the state.

Interested companies need to procure land for the project on their own, and also ensure project connectivity. Successful bidders will enter a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI and set up the projects on build-own-operate (BOO) basis. SECI will then sell the power procured further to Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) that will distribute this power to state discoms.

Minimum individual project capacity to be set up under the tender is 10 MW, and maximum, the entire 1,785 MW.

Pre-bid has been fixed for March 19, 2021 while last date to submit bids is April 15, 2021, according to the request for proposals (RFP) documents on SECI website.

In the previous round tranche-III of its tender for Rajasthan, SECI attracted one of the lowest solar power tariffs in India to date, INR 2.00 per kWh from Aljomaih Energy and Water, and Green Infra Wind Energy (see New Record Solar Tariff In India @ INR 2.00/kWh).
