Solaire, a 25-year-old Indian off-grid inverter maker that transitioned into on-grid PV inverters over the past 2 years, showcased a comprehensive product lineup at REI Expo 2024.
Mohammed Rinas, CEO and Director of Solaire, gave a brief insight into the company's background and latest product offerings in an exclusive interview with TaiyangNews. Founded in 1998 and based in Kerala, Solaire recently ventured into on-grid inverter production, spurred by India’s PM Surya Ghar Yojana and MNRE’s rooftop scheme. At the event, Solaire unveiled flagship products, including a hybrid PV inverter with a Lithium-ion battery bank and a newly developed microinverter.
Solaire hybrid
The brand-new Solaire 1-phase hybrid PV inverter coupled with a 48 V battery bank system, boasts an energy storage capacity of up to 5.2 kWh. This 1-phase hybrid inverter series has models between 3 kW and 6 kW.
Microinverter
Solaire’s debutant microinverter, equipped with 4 independent MPPT channels, can deliver up to 2,200 VA apparent AC output power. This model, featuring a DC input current carrying capacity of up to 20 A, is compatible with high-power PV modules. It has an in-built industrial-scale Wi-Fi for communicating between individual microinverters and 3rd party devices. The company states that the microinverter allows for flexible capacity expansion of the connected PV installation by simply adding a new microinverter, eliminating the need to modify the existing PV system.
Commercially available product
Apart from the new products, the company also displayed a few commercially available inverter models – X1 ZIP, X1 ZAP, and X3 ZOOM – for residential consumers. X1 ZIP features a single MPPT channel of up to 16 A DC current carrying capacity and is able to deliver up to 4 kW output power. It is available in 6 different power classes between 2 kW and 4 kW. The X1 ZAP model, equipped with 2 MPPT channels (each with 16 A capacity), provides up to 5 kW of AC power output and comes in 6 power classes from 3 kW to 5 kW. The largest version of this on-grid string inverter, the X3 ZOOM series, offers up to 15 kW AC output power.
