DAS Solar awarded EcoVadis Silver Medal for CSR efforts

Solar cell and module manufacturer DAS Solar has received the EcoVadis Silver Medal for Corporate Social Responsibility. The company said it ranked among the top 15% of over 100,000 enterprises evaluated and achieved the highest score in China's photovoltaic (PV) industry. This recognition highlights DAS Solar's leadership in sustainable development and commitment to environmental protection, social responsibility, business integrity, and supply chain management. Emphasizing green, low-carbon, and recyclable development, DAS Solar said it has introduced the DASGREEN concept and focuses on n-type technology innovation. The company optimizes manufacturing processes, promotes resource recycling, and leads supply chain transformation. Additionally, DAS Solar fosters sustainable talent development and aims to advance global sustainability efforts.

DAS Solar highlighted its latest product offerings at SNEC 2024 (see DAS Solar At SNEC 2024).

In June, solar PV panel manufacturer JA Solar announced receiving a score of 62 in the global corporate social responsibility assessment by EcoVadis (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

JinkoSolar to supply 80 MWh of SunTera ESS

Module supplier JinkoSolar has announced that it will supply 16 SunTera utility-scale energy storage systems (ESS), totaling 80,240 kWh, for a project in northern Jiangsu. The systems feature liquid cooling and AI-based thermal management, achieving a high round-trip efficiency of 94 to 95%, a 14% longer lifecycle, and 20% reduced auxiliary power consumption. The company says the systems offer robust safety with 5 layers of protection and heat-resistant coatings, with the ability to operate in extreme temperatures from -30 to 55°C and high altitudes of up to 4,000 meters. JinkoSolar said the system’s containerized, preassembled design allows flexible configuration, while reducing installation time and costs. The company claims it has secured over 1,000 MWh of energy storage contracts in Jiangsu.

GCL SI's Lianhua modules pass TÜV Rheinland wind tunnel test

GCL System Integration (GCL SI) has announced that its 210 version 660W Lianhua modules have successfully passed the wind tunnel test certification by TÜV Rheinland. GCL SI conducted the test using large-sized Lianhua modules measuring 2384 x 1303 x 30 mm to evaluate the modules' performance under real wind conditions. The test results showed that when the surface wind speed of the modules reached 46.2 m/s, equivalent to a category 15 level typhoon (with actual wind speed on the module surface being higher due to the reduction in diameter of the high-speed section of the structure), there was no visible damage or deformation to the modules or their frames. The company said further that the post-test performance evaluations by TÜV Rheinland confirmed the modules did not exhibit any performance degradation, and EL testing revealed no microcracks.

Earlier this month, GCL System Integration (GCL SI) announced that it expects to report positive numbers for the period (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

JA Solar and Huayao PV win 1.5 GW module tender

Chinese energy project developer Longyuan Power has announced the results of its first batch of centralized solar module procurement for 2024, totaling 1.5 GW across 3 segments for 500 MW capacity each. With a unit price of 0.766 RMB/W ($0.107/W), JA Solar was announced as the winner of Segment 1, involving n-type monocrystalline bifacial double-glass modules of 580 Wp and above. Segment 2, involving n-type monocrystalline bifacial double-glass modules of 580 Wp and above, was awarded to Huayao PV at a unit price of 0.74 RMB/W ($0.103/W). JA Solar was also the winner under Segment 3, for n-type monocrystalline bifacial double-glass modules of 610 Wp and above, with a unit price of 0.766 RMB/W ($0.107/W).

Sungrow provides liquid-cooled ESS for China's largest single-unit electrochemical storage station

Solar PV inverter supplier Sungrow has announced that it has supplied 51 sets of PowerTitan liquid-cooled ESS to the Togroge Shared Energy Storage Station in Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province. This 270 MW/1080 MWh project is said to be fully grid-connected, and is a supporting project of China Huadian's 1 GW PV and 3 MW hydrogen production project in Delingha City, Qinghai Province. The project is touted as the largest single-unit electrochemical energy storage station in China and the largest intelligent shared energy storage project in high-altitude regions. Sungrow stated that its PowerTitan ESS was pre-installed and pre-commissioned before delivery and connected to the grid immediately upon arrival.
