JA Solar sponsors vocational technical university: Xingtai New Energy Vocational College, an institution invested in by JA Solar, was recently inaugurated in Ningjin County, Hebei Province. Inaugurated in the same place as JA Solar’s origination, the college is said to be the first new energy related higher vocational school in Hebei Province, which focuses on the entire new energy value chain. It offers 12 majors, including green low-carbon technology and photovoltaic engineering technology. The college, spread over 610 acres, is set to begin enrolling students this fall, with plans to enroll nearly 3,000 students in 2024. JA Solar's chairman Baofang Jin stated that the college aims to serve the national Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality strategy.

Antaisolar 12th in S&P Global's solar tracker shipment rankings: In the recently released S&P Global solar tracker shipment rankings, Antaisolar was placed 12th overall and 8th for independent single-axis trackers globally. By country, Antai ranked 9th in the Spanish market, 4th in the Indian market, 2nd in the Uzbekistan market, and 6th in the Brazilian market. The company said that this inclusion in S&P Global's rankings signifies its standing as one of the leading global solar tracker manufacturers, and it claims to be one of only 3 Chinese international tracker brands to do so.

Last month, Antaisolar signed an agreement with Bahra Electric to establish a joint venture and factory in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Tongwei, LONGi, and Jinko Win 541 MW solar module tender: Chinese energy developer Fukang Zhongtai Green Energy has announced the winning candidates for the 541.0639 MWp solar module tender floated for its 500 MW solar project in Fukang City, Xinjiang. The company aims to exclusively procure n-type monocrystalline bifacial double-glass solar modules with a power output of 610 Wp and above. The delivery period for these modules is set from August 2024 to October 2024.

Tongwei Solar was the winning bidder, with a unit price of RMB 0.78/W ($0.1072/W) for a total bid of RMB 422.03 million ($58.14 million). LONGi was the first runner-up with a unit price of RMB 0.81/W ($0.1113/W) for a total bid of RMB 438.26 million ($60.41 million). JinkoSolar was placed 3rd with a total bid of RMB 435.56 million ($59.99 million), at a unit price of RMB 0.805/W ($0.1107/W).

Shuangliang Eco-Energy achieves ~100 GW silicon production capacity in H1 2024: Shuangliang Eco-Energy has announced that it has achieved nearly 100 GW of advanced monocrystalline silicon production capacity in the first half of 2024. In its new energy equipment business, the company says that the 2nd phase of 700 sets of green electricity hydrogen production system capacity construction is progressing steadily.
