  • MNGEPL has invited expressions of interest to secure around 10,000 acres of land in Maharashtra for renewable energy projects

  • EOIs are open to landowners, farmer-producer organizations, companies, cooperatives, NGOs, government agencies, and land aggregators

  • At least 1,000 acres must be available at a single location, with preference for fenced land available for outright sale

MAHAGENCO NTPC Green Energy Private Limited (MNGEPL), a joint venture (JV) company of MAHAGENCO and NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has invited expressions of interest (EOIs) to secure approximately 10,000 acres of land in Maharashtra for renewable energy projects.

The JV is open to EOIs from private landowners, registered farmer-producer organizations, sole proprietors, partnerships, LLPs, consortiums, companies, cooperative societies, registered NGOs, registered trusts, government agencies, government companies, and land aggregators etc.

At a single location, the total available land must be at least 1,000 acres. Preference will be given to fenced land available for outright sale anywhere in the state, followed by sites with a higher capacity to be established at a single location.

It should be free from any encroachment and clear of all types of vegetation, including plants, shrubs, and trees. There shouldn’t be any government restrictions on setting up solar or other renewable energy projects on the selected land. Land falling within forest or wildlife protected areas will not be considered.

MNGEPL or MAHAGENCO will conduct a feasibility study of the offered land before acquisition proceedings can be initiated.

Launched on March 27, 2026, the tender is open for EOIs till April 15, 2026.

Recently, MAHAGENCO launched an EPC tender for 300 MW solar PV capacity in Maharashtra (see MAHAGENCO Tenders 300 MW Solar Capacity In Maharashtra).

NGEL, too, has invited EOIs from commercial and industrial players and utilities to offtake power from a 100 MW solar-and-storage project (see NGEL Invites Buyers For 100 MW Solar-Storage Project In UP).
