DAS Solar partners with Zhejiang Sinopont for 5 GW POE film: Chinese solar PV module and cell supplier DAS Solar said via WeChat that it has signed a cooperation agreement with China based solar encapsulant films producer Zhejiang Sinopont Technology. From 2023, DAS Solar will purchase no less than 5 GW of pure POE film from Zhejiang Sinopont, according to the agreement. The average monthly purchase will not be less than 4 million square meters. Recently, DAS Solar announced that construction has begun for its 10 GW photovoltaic n-type module and 2 GW photovoltaic cell facilities in Jingshan (see China PV News Snippets).

Jiangsu Linyang to invest in 20 GW n-type TOPCon cell facility: Jiangsu Linyang, an operator and service provider of decentralized energy and energy management solutions, announced its intention to invest in a 20 GW high-efficiency n-type TOPCon photovoltaic cell production facility. This will help promote the company’s business development in the new energy sector. The facility will be built in phases, where, in the first phase RMB 5 billion ($0.72 billion) will be spent to build 12 GW, and in the second phase, 8 GW will be built with an investment of RMB 5 billion ($0.72 billion). The amount of investment for the second phase is just a first estimate, said the company.

Aiko Solar to acquire 2.78% equity of Qinghai Lihao: Chinese solar cell producer Aiko Solar announced that it has plans to invest RMB 385 million ($55.3 million) to acquire a 2.78% stake in Qinghai Lihao, a process technology research and development company. This move would help the company to strengthen its upstream and downstream cooperation in the industry and improve the supply chain system, it said. As an upstream enterprise, Qinghai Lihao has advanced production capacity of high-purity crystalline silicon, which it is continuing to expand. Last month, Aiko’s RMB 1.6 billion fund raising was approved (see China PV News Snippets)

S.C New Energy wins orders for its new MAD equipment: Solar PV production equipment manufacturer S.C New Energy Technology has won an order for its new MAD equipment, local media reports said. The MAD equipment is a composite vapor-phase aluminium deposition furnace based on the company’s original technology that is used to prepare the front-side layer in the TOPCon PE-poly route.
