Just 2 days left for TaiyangNews Solar and Sustainability Conference; GCL Integration 12 GW module facility begins construction; Anati Solar partners with UOB and joins U-Solar 2.0; Autowell wins LONGi bid.

GCL Integration begins construction of Funing 12 GW module facility: Over a WeChat communication, Chinese solar PV cell and module manufacturer GCL Integration said that its 12 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic module facility in Funing GCL Industrial Park has begun construction. Spread across 190,000 square meters of new workshops and auxiliary facilities (including the use of some existing workshops) and with an investment of RMB 2 billion ($0.29 billion), the facility is expected to be put into production by the end of October 2023. The company had announced plans about this facility earlier this month (see China PV News Snippets). Once put into production, the invoiced sales is expected to increase by about RMB 20 billion ($2.9 billion).

Antai Solar & United Overseas Bank join hands: Photovoltaic mounting systems provider, Antaisolar, said via WeChat that it has signed a cooperation agreement with United Overseas Bank (UOB), and that it has joined its U-Solar 2.0 project. This makes Antai Solar the exclusive solar mounting system supplier in the project. U-Solar is Asia’s first comprehensive solar financing platform and was launched in October 2019 with the intention to power renewable energy development and financing across Southeast Asia. U-Solar 2.0 is an upgraded version that expands the service scope to companies across the entire solar energy value chain. Antai Solar presented at our recent Solar Trackers Conference (presentation see here).

Autowell Technology wins LONGi’s RMB 430 million bid: Chinese automation equipment manufacturer Autowell Technology announced that it has won LONGi’s wafer sorter, solar cell, and module facility bid for RMB 430 million ($62.4 million). As the average equipment acceptance cycle is for about 6 to 9 months from acceptance to delivery time of the project, it is not clear if this win will impact Autowell’s performance in 2023. However,  last December, Autowell had got into a RMB 96 million sales deal with JinkoSolar (see China PV News Snippets).
