ReneSola sells 4.3 MW solar projects in UK: As per a report by news agency Zhitong Finance APP,  PV project developer ReneSola has closed the sale of a portfolio of operating projects located in the United Kingdom to Atmosclear Investments Ltd, an European renewable energy and cleantech private equity group. The portfolio comprises 1,509 residential rooftop projects located in Scotland, with a combined capacity of 4.3 MW. These projects are qualified under the feed-in tariff scheme and have been operating since 2015. Recently, Renesola had announced joint ventures to develop PV plants in the UK (see ReneSola Announces Another PV Joint Venture In UK).

8 companies to promote 210 mm silicon wafer standardization: With a view to promote China’s photovoltaic industry further, eight solar companies – Trina Solar, Risen Energy, Zhonghuan Semiconductor (TZS), Tongwei, DZS Solar, Suzhou Run Sunshine, Canadian Solar and Shangji Automation – have come forward to standardize 210 mm silicon wafers and modules. They proposed to select the silicon wafer size determined in the SEMI standard within the size range of 210-220 mm: 210+/-0.25 mm as the only size, and revise the SEMI and PV industry’s existing modules according to this silicon wafer size. This standardization is expected to help improve production efficiency, optimize supply and promote industry technological innovation. Trina Solar had started manufacturing its first large-size module using silicon wafers with 210 mm side length January 2020 (see Trina Solar Begins Producing Modules With 210mm Wafer)

Trina’s Vertex S 400W+ modules pass IEC reliability certification: Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar’s Vertex S 400W+ series ultra-high-power small-size modules have completed a full set of reliability tests by TÜV Rheinland, and obtained two certifications, IEC 61215 and IEC 61730. These high-efficiency modules are aimed at distributed residential and commercial rooftop applications (see Trina Solar’s New Module For Rooftops).

TBEA 300 MW project grid-connected: As reported in Chinese solar blog PVMen, solar PV inverter company TBEA New Energy’s 300 MW photovoltaic parity project in Jiaokou County was successfully connected to the grid. It can now provide an average of 40.823 million kWh of green power every year.

TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies:  Our TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies was launched on Dec. 1. Day 1 saw an overview on High-Efficiency Module Technology Outlook by Dr. Jutta Trube, VDMA / International Roadmap of Photovoltaics (ITRPV). This was followed by presentations from JinkoSolar, JA Solar and LONGi Solar on their M10/182mm cell-size based new module solutions. Later, an executive panel with representatives from these leading module manufacturers and TÜV Rheinland Group discussed the outlook for M10 PERC products.

The Conference will carry on for 3 more days (Dec 2-4, 2020), each day from 14:00 – 17:00 CET. On Dec, the “HJT Day”,  we will launch our TaiyangNews Heterojunction Solar Technology 2020 Report. You can still Register and be part of the conference (see Agenda & Free Registration).
