Huasun cell and module facility in Feixi begins construction: Over a WeChat communication, Chinese solar panel manufacturer Hefei Huasun said that its 5 GW high-efficiency heterojunction cell and module facility in Feixi County has begun construction. Spread across 410 mu and with an investment of about RMB 5 billion ($0.70 billion), the facility is expected to have an annual output value of RMB 7 billion ($0.98 billion). With this, Huasun’s facilities under-construction will exceed 15 GW and by the end of this year, the company will have a production capacity of 20 GW. In the TaiayngNews Top Solar Modules Listing for May 2023, Huasun ranked 5, along with Jolywood (see Top Solar Modules Listing – May 2023). Meanwhile TaiyangNews caught up with Huasun’s Chief Executive Officer Dan Zhou at SNEC in Shanghai, where they discussed the company’s technology roadmap, among lot of other interesting details (see SNEC Exclusive: Huasun CEO Interview)

Fusion Materials to build PV electronic material fab: In an announcement, solar metallization supplier Fusion Materials said that it will be investing RMB 1.2 billion ($0.17 billion) to build a high-end photovoltaic electronic materials factory in Changzhou City. With this, the company would be strengthening its upstream raw materials and improving its market competitiveness. In the beginning of this month, Fusion Materials had acquired stake in Linton Materials, an electronic-grade silver powder research, development and production company (see China Solar PV News Snippets)

Tongwei module from Yancheng passes TÜV Nord certification: Integrated solar PV manufacturer said via WeChat that its Yancheng facility has successfully passed the TÜV Nord product certification audit and has bene awarded the certificate. In the middle of May, the facility had received its first batch of equipment (see China Solar PV News Snippets), and by the last week of May, the company had produced its first module (see China Solar PV News Snippets). The modules produced by this facility are 182, 210 large-sized and adopts Tongwei Solar TNC/TPC technology.

DuPont launches Tedlar front sheet films: At the Shanghai SNEC exhibition, American chemicals producer DuPont released Tedlar transparent front sheet films. Using these products then, lightweight modules have significant weight advantages, the company said. As an example, if a crystalline silicon module with a size of 2 square meters is looked at, the Tedlar transparent front sheet film weighs only about 100 grams, in comparison to the glass front sheet of the same size which weighs over 10 kg, the company added.
