TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Oct 26, 2023; Tongwei & Power N Sun sign cooperation agreement; Mingyang Smart Energy's >25% efficiency perovskite thin film cell certified; Autowell to supply equipment worth RMB 250 million; Jolywood releases Q3 & 9M 2023 financial results.
1 Day to Go for TaiyangNews Reliable PV Module Design Conference: With solar module technology being in an innovation rush, quickly improving efficiencies and reaching higher power output as global deployment continues at record pace, there's one key attribute beyond these 2 direct sales metrics of a PV panel – and that is reliability. Solar modules are a very rare commodity that comes with typical performance warranties of 25-30 years, making reliability an important part of new product design.
TaiyangNews brings together key stakeholders active in the various parts of module manufacturing to discuss the topic "reliability" to facilitate designing and building high-performance modules that last for decades.
The Conference will take place tomorrow, October 26, 2023, 9:30 – 13:00 CEST.

Tongwei Solar & POWER N SUN sign 100 MW PV module cooperation framework agreement: Vertically integrated solar manufacturer Tongwei Solar has announced that it has signed a 100 MW photovoltaic (PV) module sales cooperation framework agreement with POWER N SUN. As a solar component distributor based in the UAE, POWER N SUN will help Tongwei expand its module product sales in the Middle East 'in the form of full-scale cooperation in distribution and projects.' Earlier this month, Hunan Huamin Holding Group has announced that it has signed a framework agreement with a number of Tongwei's subsidiaries (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Mingyang Smart Energy's perovskite thin film cell gets certified conversion efficiency of >25%: Mingyang Smart Energy has announced that it has received the perovskite solar device efficiency certification report (report number: 23Q3-00319) from the Fujian Institute of Metrology. Calling it a new record for the company, the company said that the conversion efficiency of the cell was certified to be 25.11%. In March 2023, Mingyang had announced that the efficiency of the cell on a 5×5 substrate had reached 22.30% (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Autowell to supply equipment worth RMB 250 million: Automation equipment manufacturer Autowell Technology has announced that it has recently signed a contract with a leading PV company to supply cell-side equipment such as laser-enhanced metallization equipment. The value of the contract is about RMB 250 million ($34.2 million) (tax included). In June, Autowell had announced that its holding subsidiary Wuxi Songci Electromechanical would be selling large-scale single crystal furnaces to JinkoSolar to the tune of RMB 480 million ($65.6 million) (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Jolywood Q3 net profit rises over 120%: N-type solar module manufacturer Jolywood has reported that its 9M 2023 revenue grew 27.77% year-over-year (YoY) to RMB 9.741 billion ($1.33 billion). Its net profit for the period was RMB 484 million ($66.1 million), an increase of 40.94% YoY. For the 3rd quarter of 2023, the company's revenue was up 33.27% YoY to RMB 3.980 billion ($544 million), while its net profit of RMB 247 million ($33.8 million) increased 120.27% YoY. Last month, Jolywood introduced its unique injection metallization technology called JSIM, which it claims solves the problem with dual-glass packaging for TOPCon modules (see Jolywood Solar's Special Injected Metallization).
