Hangzhou First at TaiyangNews annual flagship event; Sungrow plans to spin off subsidiary; Yingfa Ruineng TOPCon bifacial cell hits 26.21% efficiency; TCL Zhonghuan to set up 12 GW PV cell plant in Huainan; Risen Energy delivers 600 MW modules to PowerChina.

TaiyangNews annual flagship event on Dec 13/14 & 19/20: Hangzhou First's Technical Director Hou Hongbing will be taking part in TaiyangNews' annual flagship event – a Virtual Conference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies – Today, Tomorrow and Beyond. He will be presenting on the topic: Innovations in Encapsulation Materials for TOPCon.

Astronergy's global expansion plans and PV industry insights: PV module manufacturer has unveiled its expansion plans the Astronergy Solar Party held in Berlin, Germany. The company's Chief Marketing Officer, Samuel Zhang, said that the company plans to set up a manufacturing base in Turkey, while increasing its manufacturing capacity globally. Zhang also discussed topics such as TOPCon tech trends, project improvements, the inventory situation in Europe, product prices, and supply chain traceability. He said that the company is committed to exploring frontier PV technologies for diverse applications. Zhang continued that the company aims to sustainably expand its presence in crucial markets, with a focus on Europe.

Also, the company also received master certification for its ASTRO N7 and ASTRO N7s products from TÜV Rheinland at the event. The company introduced the n-type TOPCon ASTRO N7 series products in May this year. The ASTRO N7 module, based on TOPCon 3.0 cell technology as the core, it covers 2 major products: ASTRO N7 using, uses large-size rectangular silicon wafers, while the ASTRO N7s is designed for household applications.

Sungrow to spin off Sungrow Plant: Solar inverter supplier Sungrow has announced its plans to spin off its subsidiary, Sungrow Plant, through an initial public offering (IPO) on domestic stock exchanges. Sungrow Plant primarily engages in the research and development of new energy power stations, project development, and the sale of system solutions. It provides global customers with comprehensive system solutions covering the entire life cycle of clean energy projects, including system research and development, development investment, design, and construction.

The IPO of Sungrow Plant aims to leverage the functionalities of the capital market to optimize resource allocation effectively. This strategic initiative aims to strengthen the market and technological advantages of the company in the new energy power station development business, achieve capital appreciation, and enhance the company's sustained profitability and core competitiveness.

Yingfa Ruineng's TOPCon bifacial cell efficiency hits 26.21%: The Yingfa Group subsidiary Yingfa Ruineng has announced that its n-type TOPCon bifacial cell has achieved a certified efficiency of 26.21%. The company received the the non-leco process testing report from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). The company said that the efficiency of its n-type cells had reached 25.2% as early as January of this year, with a yield rate exceeding 90%. Subsequently, at SNEC in Shanghai, the company launched the new TOPCon series named DeCon, with a production efficiency of 25.5%. The company says that it was able to further increase the efficiency through continuous optimization in various technical aspects and materials. The company plans to further increase research and development investment, aiming to push the efficiency to over 26.6% in the future.

TCL Zhonghuan to set up 12 GW PV cell manufacturing plant in Huainan: TCL Zhonghuan has announced that it has signed up with the Huainan government to set up a 12 GW high-efficiency solar cell production manufacturing facility in the city. The 2-phase construction of 6 GW each, with a total investment of approximately RMB 6 billion ($837.3 million).

Parallelly, the company also announced that it will be setting up the Huainan High-Tech Zone Zero-Carbon Demonstration Park with an investment of RMB 5.5 billion ($767.5 million). The facility is planned to be be built in 3 phases. Once fully complete and operational, the demonstration park is expected to meet industrial demand for new energy electricity and comprehensive energy use in Huainan City, Anhui Province.

Risen delivers 600 MW modules to PowerChina: Solar panel maker Risen Energy has announced that it has completed the delivery of 132-type Titan modules with a total capacity of 600 MW to PowerChina. The plant, said to be the largest single PV and storage project under construction, comprises 600 MW PV + 600 MW energy storage. It is located in Fukang City, Xinjiang. Recently, Risen Energy announced the test results from Hainan that said its Hyper-ion generated 5.13% higher power per watt compared to PERC (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
