Day 2 of TaiyangNews Virtual Conference; Chint's FY2023 revenue up 38.11%; 2 Jinergy modules TUV Nord certified; Grand Sunergy wins HJT module bid; Mubang High-Tech rolls out 1st cell from 10 GW cell fab; Dongjian Group to build perovskite cell fab in Zhengyu Town.

Day 2 of TaiyangNews Virtual Conference: The TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Cell & Module Production Equipment & Processing Materials will resume tomorrow at 09:30 a.m. CET with a Welcome Note by Shravan Chunduri, Head of Technology, TaiyangNews. The Keynote address will be given by Dr. Peter Fath, CEO of RCT Solutions GmbH.

This will be followed by presentations by Xinrui An from Jietai Solar; Leo Yu from ConfirmWare; Stephen Tang from Hangzhou First; Jacob Harris from Cybrid; and Rainbow Zheng from HIUV.

Chint's FY2023 revenue up 38.11% YoY: Chint, the parent company of Astronergy, has released its 2023 annual report. The company's PV business revenue in 2023 was RMB 36.60 billion ($5.08 billion), up 38.11% Year-over-Year (YoY). Its residential PV subsidiary Chint Anneng reported RMB 29.61 billion ($4.11 billion) in revenue and a net profit of RMB 2.60 billion ($361.04 million). In 2023, Chint Anneng's newly installed residential PV capacity exceeded 12 GW, accounting for about 29% of China's residential PV newly installed capacity. As of the end of 2023, Chint Anneng's installed capacity was about 14 GW.

Last month, Tongrun Industry, another subsidiary of Chint Group, announced its plans to raise about RMB 1.7 billion ($236.11 million) (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

2 Jinergy TOPCon modules receive TUV Nord certification: Jinergy has announced that its 210R rectangular and 210 square n-type TOPCon modules have received TUV Nord certification. The certified n-type TOPCon 210R rectangular module uses a cell size of 182×210mm. The company says that its 210R JNBN132 module can achieve a maximum power 625 W, which is a 40 W increase over 182-cell modules. The square version, i.e., the 210 JNBN132 module, is said to achieve a maximum power of 720W. Jinergy states that these high power outputs can help reduce system BOS and LCOE.

Grand Sunergy to supply HJT modules for 400 MW offshore PV project: Grand Sunergy has announced that its subsidiary has won a bid to supply solar modules for a 400MW offshore photovoltaic (PV) project. Named HG30, the project is part of China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) located in the northern part of Laizhou Bay in Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. The contract value is estimated at not less than RMB 500 million ($69.44 million). The project will operate in a pile-fixed manner with a bracket inclination angle of 15°. The project's capacity is 400 MW AC / 539.3274 MW DC. It will adopt a scheme of 710Wp double-glass bifacial HJT modules, with fixed brackets and string inverters.

In March 2024, 10 leading HJT manufacturers, including Grand Sunergy, launched the China Photovoltaic Solar Energy High Efficiency 740W+ Club (see Club For High Efficiency Heterojunction Solar Panels).

Mubang High-Tech rolls out 1st cell from 10 GW n-type cell fab: Mubang High-Tech has announced that its 10 GW n-type solar cell production base has rolled out the 1st cell from the production line. Involving a total investment of RMB 5.2 billion ($722 million), the plant will consist of 20 cell production lines, mainly producing 182 series n-type high-efficiency cells. While the 1st production line is now operational, the company says that the equipment for another 4 production lines has been installed. It plans the remaining 15 production lines to be installed and operational by the end of October 2024.

In March, Mubang Hi-Tech announced its plans to invest RMB 4 billion ($554.2 million) in an n-type high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon ingot fab (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Dongjian Group to build perovskite cell fab in Zhengyu Town: Dongjian Group has signed an agreement with Zhengyu Town to set up a perovskite solar cell fab. The company plans to invest up to RMB 1.4 billion ($194 million) in the facility, which will consist of a 100 MW pilot line and a 1 GW mass production line. The facility, spread over 150 acres, is expected to generate 600 jobs and RMB 1.5 billion ($207.8 million) in annual revenues when fully up and running.
