DAS Solar announces n-type product prices: Chinese solar PV module and cell supplier DAS Solar has released the price of n-type products over WeChat. Here are the details:

  • The price of 182 bifacial monocrystalline n-type cells (mainstream efficiency ≥ 25.3%) is now priced at RMB 0.8/W ($0.098/W), which is RMB 0.25/W ($0.033/W) lower than the previous price, a drop of 23.81% (25.19%).
  • The price of 182 bifacial double-glass n-type modules (mainstream power ≥ 585W) is now at RMB 1.55/W ($0.189/W), which is RMB 0.20/W ($0.029/W) lower than the previous price, a drop of 11.43% (13.30%)

And here are the details of DAS Solar's last announced prices (see China Solar PV News Snippets). On another note, DAS Solar Chairman & President Liu Yong spoke exclusively to TaiyangNews (see SNEC Exclusive: DAS Solar Executive Interview)

Trina to invest RMB 10.9 billion in n-type cell and module facilities: Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar announced its plans to invest in a 10 GW high-efficiency solar cell facility in Huaian, a 10 GW high-efficiency solar cell facility and a 10GW photovoltaic module facility in Dongtai. Towards this, the company plans to issue 652 million A-share to no more than 35 specific investors, and raise about RMB 10.9 billion ($1.5 billion). Meanwhile in the recently concluded TaiyangNews Global PV System Technology Trends H1/2023 conference, Trina Solar had presented the company's Vertex n-iTOPCon module series (see Review: Day 1 – Global PV System Technology Trends H1/2023)

LONGi slashes silicon wafer prices by 33%: Announcing the latest prices for silicon wafers on its website, Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company said that the price of monocrystalline silicon wafer P-type M10 150μm thickness (182/247mm) was reduced from RMB 4.36/pc ($0.552/pc) to RMB 2.93/pc ($0.367/pc), a drop of 32.79%. Also, the company has not quoted silicon wafers of P-type M6 150μm thickness (166/223mm) of monocrystalline silicon wafers.

Hangzhou First to build n-type cell film production facility: Polymer materials developer and manufacturer Hangzhou First Applied Material announced that it will be constructing a high-efficiency cell film facility in Jiangmen that will produce about 250 million square meters films annually. The investment is expected to be around RMB 250 million ($34.49 million). Last year, Hangzhou First had issued RMB 3.03 billion bonds (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

SC-SOLAR to invest RMB 1.5 billion in equipment fab: Chinese PV equipment manufacturer SC Solar, over a WeChat communication, said that it has signed up for a perovskite and heterojunction equipment fab in Kunshan. With an investment of RMB 1.5 billion ($0.21 billion), the annual output value on completion of the fab is expected to be RMB 5 billion ($0.69 billion). In January this year, SC Solar had secured a 5.2 GW solar module production equipment line order from India (see SC-Solar Bags HJT Module Equipment Order For 5.2 GW)
