Trinasolar modules Certisolis certified for ‘lowest’ carbon footprint

Vertically integrated solar manufacturer Trinasolar has announced that its solar modules have received carbon footprint certification from France’s Certisolis, achieving a carbon footprint as low as 300 kg eq CO₂/kWc – the lowest recorded level for crystalline silicon modules. The company’s ingot pulling, wafer, cell, and module production processes successfully passed stringent audits by France's ADEME. Trinasolar says it is now among the few mass-production suppliers globally to meet this ultra-low carbon standard, underscoring its ongoing efforts to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the product lifecycle.

Trinasolar supplied 210 MW of its high-efficiency Vertex N 720W series modules to a 1 GW solar-storage project in northwest China (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

DMEGC Solar building a female-friendly workplace

Solar cell and module maker DMEGC Solar has officially signed the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), an international initiative jointly launched by the United Nations Global Compact and UN Women. The WEPs offer guiding principles to help businesses promote gender equality. Through this signing, DMEGC Solar has pledged to enhance fairness in its recruitment process, create a female-friendly work environment, improve women’s welfare and health policies, and develop specialized training programs for female technical talent – promoting an inclusive workplace. The company stated that signing the WEPs demonstrates its strong commitment to workplace equality, equal pay, and career development, while also aligning with its broader ESG strategy and sustainable development goals.

Gaoce to invest in Runergy via debt-to-equity swap

Wafer slicing equipment supplier and wafer processing services provider Gaoce has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Gaoce Intelligent will convert RMB 100 million ($13.87 million) in receivables into equity in solar cell and module manufacturer Runergy, acquiring approximately 1.0817% of the company’s shares.

With this move, Gaoce aims to resolve outstanding payments from Runyang and reduce its own credit risk. The agreement includes IPO or repurchase guarantee clauses: if Runergy fails to go public or merge into a listed company within the agreed period, repurchase obligations will apply to safeguard Gaoce’s investment. Post-investment, Gaoce Intelligent will also participate in Runyang’s corporate governance.

Earlier this year, S.C New Energy and Autowell Technology also announced investments in Runergy through the same debt-to-equity swap mechanism (see China’s Runergy Bags RMB 900 Million Equity Investment From Suppliers).

Xinfuxing Glass upgrades solar glass facility

Solar glass manufacturer Xinfuxing Glass has announced that it is adjusting the production line layout at its solar rolled glass project. The company originally planned to build 2 production lines capable of producing 1,200 tons/day each, which it now plans to consolidate into a single line producing 2,400 tons/day. The original total planned annual capacity of 160 million m2 remains unchanged. The facility is currently under construction, with ignition scheduled for April 2028.

Earlier this year, Xinfuxing was one of a group of 9 companies that opposed the use of substandard solar photovoltaic glass by some companies trying to reduce costs by cutting corners (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Fonrich releases white paper on PV arc fault protection solutions

Fonrich, an MLPE (Module-Level Power Electronics) solution provider, in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland, has released a white paper titled Photovoltaic Arc Fault Protection Solutions. It details the core principles, key technologies, evolving standards, and real-world applications of PV DC arc detection and protection.

The white paper explains that arc fault protection devices work by monitoring current and voltage signals in the circuit and identifying arc-specific waveform features. Once an anomaly is detected, the system promptly issues a protective command, effectively interrupting the arc cycle to prevent damage and enhance operational safety.
