DAS Solar’s n-type modules showcase TOPCon 4.0 Plus performance

In a press release, DAS Solar announced late last month that its TOPCon 4.0 Plus technology-based n-type modules demonstrated superior performance in Kiwa PVEL's 2024 tests. The company said the modules, with power outputs ranging from 430 W to 715 W, showed resilience under extreme climates. At the Qinghai and Hainan projects, the n-type modules outperformed p-type modules by delivering 6.59% and 4.41% more power, respectively. The company says these modules are reliable in diverse environments, from deserts to floating systems, delivering enhanced durability, temperature resistance, and impact protection.

Huasun releases 2023 ESG report

In its 2023 ESG report released today, heterojunction (HJT) manufacturer Huasun Energy highlights its commitment to sustainable development in the HJT photovoltaic industry. The report outlines 3 key strategies:

  • Environmental Strategy: The company emphasizes green production through technological innovation. HJT boasts high efficiency, reliability, and low carbon footprint. Huasun prioritizes energy-saving production and strict environmental management.

  • Social Strategy: The company focuses on employee growth, fair working conditions, and community welfare. It aims for industry collaboration to promote the heterojunction photovoltaic sector.

  • Governance Strategy: Huasun upholds compliance, risk management, and strong corporate governance, enhancing transparency and decision-making integrity.

Chairman Xu Xiaohua reaffirmed Huasun’s role in driving the energy transition through heterojunction technology.

JinkoSolar expands global manufacturing amid overcapacity concerns

Noted solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar has announced a significant move by partnering with Saudi Arabia’s PIF and Vision Industry Company. This partnership will establish JinkoSolar’s 4th overseas factory. This expansion, discussed at the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, addresses growing industry overcapacity and the need for localized manufacturing and services. JinkoSolar says this strategic global investment boosts market access and meets local demands, particularly in the MENA region.  JinkoSolar says it has maintained its No. 1 position despite competition, delivering 43.8 GW in H1 2024.

Huasun sets new record for HJT modules

Huasun Energy has announced that its Himalaya series G12-132 HJT solar module has achieved a new breakthrough, according to testing by a global authoritative third-party certification agency. The module reached a maximum power output of 768.938 W and a conversion efficiency of 24.75%. The company claims it is a new world record for HJT modules.

Last month, Huasun announced it had delivered 1.8 GW of HJT modules within 3 months for China Green Development Investment Group’s 4 GW PV project in Ruoqiang, Xinjiang (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

DMEGC Solar's Infinity RT G12RT-B66HSW Anti-glare module passes anti-glare testing

Vertically integrated solar manufacturer DMEGC Solar’s Infinity RT G12RT-B66HSW Anti-glare modules were evaluated at the SPF Institute. Showing significant anti-glare performance, these modules reflected only 14,200 cd/m², far below the 101,500 cd/m² of conventional panels. This low-glare property makes these modules ideal for installations near airports and highways, says the company. It claims it uses 100% green energy in its solar production and plans to extend this to solar cell manufacturing in Q4 2024, helping it maintain strong ESG ratings. The modules also passed extensive stress tests, showcasing their durability and long-term performance under harsh conditions.

In August, DMEGC Solar announced it is supplying 940 MW of high-efficiency n-type 630 W modules for a fishery-PV Complementary project in Jiangsu, China, set to be grid-connected this month (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

DR Laser signs RMB 1.22 billion laser equipment order

Solar laser equipment supplier DR Laser has announced that it has signed a procurement contract with a leading photovoltaic company for laser equipment and upgrades. While the purchaser hasn’t been disclosed, the total contract amount is RMB 1,228.6283 million ($175.05 million, tax excluded). The company stated that the transaction amount of this contract accounts for 76.36% of the company's revenue from its main business for 2023.

SolaEon to build 1.2 GW perovskite cell manufacturing project

Perovskite solar manufacturer SolaEon has signed an agreement to build its perovskite cell manufacturing facility in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. The company will invest a total of RMB 1.2 billion ($170.09 million) in this facility. It will construct production lines for 200 MW and another 1 GW of perovskite solar cells. Earlier this year, SolaEon's large-area perovskite solar module measuring 1,027.1 cm² achieved a stabilized efficiency of 19.2% (see SolaEon Technology Announces World Record For Perovskite Modules). This module was also included in the NREL Champion Module Efficiencies and Dr. Martin Green's Solar cell efficiency tables (Version 64).

RenShine grid-connects 1.2 MW perovskite distributed power station

Perovskite developer RenShine Solar has announced that it has completed the construction of its 1.2 MW perovskite rooftop distributed power station. This plant is now generating power and was connected to the grid on September 29. The company says the plant’s power generation exceeded 3,000 kWh/day on its first day. Calling it the ‘world's largest perovskite power station project,’ the company has installed 9,300 of its commercial perovskite modules, measuring 1.2 m × 0. 6 m commercial modules with an average module power of 130 W. It is expected to generate 1.55 million kWh of electricity annually, reduce CO2 emissions by 1,524 tons, and save 502.8 tons of standard coal, which is equivalent to planting 83,519 trees.
