UtmoLight Delivers Large-Area Perovskite Modules

Perovskite module manufacturer Wuxi UtmoLight Technology has completed batch deliveries of 2.81 m² perovskite PV modules to projects in Jiangsu, Anhui, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shanxi, and Shandong provinces, as well as overseas markets.

The deliveries cover utility-scale, distributed, and building-integrated PV (BIPV) applications, including a 1.3 MW rooftop distributed PV project in Wuxi, Jiangsu, and a 1.2 MW commercial and industrial (C&I) distributed PV project in Changshu, Jiangsu. UtmoLight has also completed overseas deliveries, including an order in Singapore.

Last month, UtmoLight grid-connected a 6.7 MW rooftop distributed PV project in Wuxi (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Ningxia Targets 100 GW+ New Energy Capacity by 2030

As part of its 15th Five-Year Plan for building a ‘Beautiful Ningxia,’ the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region government has set a target of more than 100 GW of installed new energy capacity by 2030. The plan calls for a higher share of new energy in the power supply mix, expanded distributed PV deployment, and upgrades to aging wind farms.

Ningxia also plans to develop BIPV demonstration projects and promote green-power and zero-carbon parks.

The plan also includes projects for crystalline-silicon PV module recycling, integrated treatment and recycling of solid waste across the PV value chain, and recycling of decommissioned wind power equipment and spent EV batteries.

Earlier this year, Ningxia announced that it plans to establish three renewable energy bases of 10 GW each (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Yichu Energy Connects 400 MW/1,600 MWh Grid-Forming Storage Project

Energy storage company Yichu Energy has achieved full-capacity grid connection for its 400 MW/1,600 MWh independent shared energy storage project in Fanshi County, Xinzhou, Shanxi Province. Located in the Fanshi Economic Development Zone, the company describes it as Shanxi’s first grid-forming independent shared storage facility and the province’s largest independent shared storage project by capacity.

The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) project was developed in two phases. The newly connected second phase covers approximately 60 mu and comprises 40 standardized 5 MW/20 MWh storage units, providing active grid support and black-start capabilities.

The full project is expected to deliver approximately 257 million kWh of peak-shaving discharge annually. It operates under an independent shared-storage model, with revenue streams including storage-capacity leasing to renewable energy projects, energy arbitrage in the spot power market, and ancillary services.

China South-to-North Water Diversion Corp Names Preferred Bidders

China South-to-North Water Diversion Corporation has announced the preferred bidders for its 2026-2027 framework procurement of PV modules and inverters, with estimated procurement volumes of 1.3 GW and 800 MW, respectively.

The module procurement comprises an estimated 1 GW of n-type TOPCon bifacial dual-glass modules and 300 MW of BC bifacial dual-glass modules. The TOPCon lot requires a minimum conversion efficiency of 22.8%. Trinasolar, JinkoSolar, Tongwei, Astronergy, JA, and LONGi were named as preferred bidders. Based on the quoted prices and estimated procurement volume, unit prices range from RMB 0.710/W to RMB 0.729/W, averaging RMB 0.720/W.

The BC lot requires a minimum module efficiency of 23.8%. LONGi, AIKO and GCL SI were named as preferred bidders, quoting RMB 0.782/W, RMB 0.775/W and RMB 0.778/W, respectively.

For the estimated 800 MW of string inverters rated at 176 kW or above, Hopewind, TBEA, Sineng Electric, Sungrow, and Zhuzhou National Engineering Research Center of Converters were named as preferred bidders. Based on the estimated procurement volume, their implied unit prices are approximately RMB 0.0818/W, RMB 0.0850/W, RMB 0.0837/W, RMB 0.0940/W, and RMB 0.0847/W, respectively.
