Trianel’s German plans: Municipal utility corporation Trianel Energieprojekte GmbH plans to install 150 MW of wind and 200 MW of solar capacity in Germany on an annual basis as part of its future plans. To date, it has installed 1.25 GW of renewable energy capacity, including 121 MW of open-space solar PV systems installed in the country in 2024. The company has also started planning open-space systems in Austria.
“We are consistently pursuing our strategic goal of planning a substation and battery storage directly into all open-space systems,” said the Managing Director of Trianel Energy Projects, Herbert Muders. “With this holistic approach, we ensure that our solar parks are optimally integrated into the existing electricity system. Our projects therefore experience a high level of flexibility right from the grid connection.”
Valorem raises €550 million: French independent renewable energy operator of wind, solar and hydropower projects, Valorem Group has closed over €550 million in financing to accelerate the deployment of new renewable energy capacity in France and Europe. This financing from the consortium of AIP Management, IDIA Capital Investissement, GSO and IRDI will enable it to complete over 7.5 GW of projects currently under development in its portfolio.
€350 million loan for Apex in France: Macquarie-backed French solar projects developer Apex Energies has secured a €350 million loan, its largest transaction to date, to advance its solar fleet by over 400 MW. Out of this capacity, 250 MW is already at an advanced stage of development and/or under construction. Spread across all of France, this capacity comprises nearly 1,100 ground-mounted PV projects, rooftop solar facilities, solar on agricultural sheds, and agrivoltaics for sheep and cattle sectors to be commissioned by 2027. The power generated will be both for sale to the grid and for self-consumption. The financing was co-arranged by Caisse d'Epargne Ile de France and partners.
Enersense & Fortum deal complete: Finland-based green energy company Enersense has completed the sale of its onshore wind and solar project development business to Fortum for €9.5 million. Enersense will record a profit of around €19 million. The transaction also includes an earn-out of up to €74 million based on the progress of wind and solar projects covered under the transaction.
Multi-country VPPA for Kimberly-Clark: Spanish independent power producer BNZ has entered into a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with US-based personal care products company Kimberly-Clark Corp (KC). The VPPA is for BNZ projects in Spain and Italy. Under the agreement, BNZ’s 2 solar power facilities in Italy and another one in Spain will generate a forecasted 164 GWh annually, representing over 40% of the total electricity consumed by KC’s Western & Central European production facilities in Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Czechia. BNZ said this will virtually power the production of major KC brands including Kleenex, Scottex, Scott, WypAll, Page and Hakle. KC says this VPPA supports its decarbonization targets as it seeks to increase the amount of renewable electricity available in the grids that it is connected to.
20 MW online in Poland: Israeli renewable energy company Nofar Energy has grid-connected 20 MW of solar PV capacity in Poland. The Dziewoklucz Solar Project is the company’s 2nd solar facility in the country. It expands Nofar’s Polish operational solar PV capacity to 40 MW and to 1.2 GW globally. In Poland, the company says it is actively advancing a 700 MW solar pipeline alongside 3.2 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity.
AIKO and Energy3000 partner: Chinese solar PV manufacturer AIKO has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with European solar distributor and project developer Energy3000. AIKO will supply its n-type ABC modules including its latest 3rd generation INFINITE series for Europe’s residential and commercial solar markets.
DAS Solar in Poland: China-based n-type solar technology company DAS Solar recently exhibited at the EEX event in Poland’s Kielce. Among the products it showcased from its portfolio were 510 W 54-cell black-framed modules and 455 W 48-cell all-black modules, both high on aesthetics targeted for the distributed rooftop projects. The company says its 470 W 54-cell new generation DBC modules combine TOPCon with back contact technology wherein all electrodes are located on the back of the cells. It sees Poland as a strong market for distributed generation with its net metering scheme and supportive government policies. DAS Solar also signed an agreement with PVE Construction on the occasion for the supply of its modules for a 54 MW project in Poland’s Września. It will be grid-connected in Q4 2025.
“As one of the regions with the highest demand for solar power, Europe has always been a key focus of DAS Solar's global expansion strategy, and Poland is the first stop in the company's European market deployment for 2025,” stated DAS Solar.
66.5 MWh German solar+storage project for JinkoSolar: Another leading Chinese PV manufacturer JinkoSolar signed a supply agreement for a 66.5 MWh energy storage system (ESS) and 19 MW PV project in Germany. JinkoSolar will supply its 5 MWh liquid-cooled ESS and 19 MW of Tiger Neo series of high-efficiency solar modules for the project.
