Andhra Pradesh manufacturing plans: Solar PV manufacturer Websol Energy System Limited has announced that its 4 GW solar cell and module manufacturing factory plans have been approved by the state Government of Andhra Pradesh. The greenfield project at MPSEZ, Naidupeta in Tirupati district was green signaled by the state’s Industries and Commerce Department, following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the manufacturer and the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) in November 2025. The state government has granted Websol an incentive package for land allotment, fixed capital investment subsidy, power tariff reimbursement, among others. Websol plans to power the factory through a 100 MW captive solar plant. Websol currently operates 1.2 GW of solar cell and 550 MW of module manufacturing capacity in West Bengal. It had earlier announced the phased expansion of 4 GW of cells and 4 GW of modules with INR 30 billion investment (see Websol Energy Announces INR 30 Billion Solar Cell, Module Expansion).
