The September 1, 2023 innovation auction in Germany was oversubscribed with bids coming in only for solar and storage projects, while none were offered for wind energy. Bavaria alone secured 258 MW out of the 408 MW awarded in this round.

In Germany's 1st innovation tender, solar only systems secured a weighted average bid of €0.0265 per kWh. For hybrid projects including more than one RE technology/storage the weighted market premium average was €0.0450 per kWh.
