Future Bright For Perovskite Solar Technology
Rethink Energy Pegs Global Perovskite Manufacturing To Grow To 100 GW By 2030
Wednesday, 23 Aug 2023
Going by the steady improvement in their efficiency, perovskite is likely to become a ‘viable force’ in the global solar PV manufacturing industry, growing to account for a cumulative 100 GW by 2030, according to new research from England-based thinktank Rethink Research’s Rethink Energy.
Rethink Energy Expects 222 GW Global Solar Installations In 2022
Rethink Energy Counts 330 GW Solar PV Modules Manufactured In 2022, Yet Pegs 222 GW As Installed; China To Deploy 42 GW In Q4/2022 & Exit Year With 94 GW
Thursday, 15 Dec 2022
Globally, 330 GW worth of solar PV modules—comprising 320 GW silicon PV and 10 GW CdTe and CIGS—were produced in 2022, but not all of it was used for installations this year that Rethink Energy thinks should add up to 222 GW with a 35% YoY growth.

Rethink Energy Expects Global Polysilicon ‘Overcapacity’ In Coming Decade
Tuesday, 16 Aug 2022
Analysts at UK based market intelligence firm Rethink Energy see global polysilicon production capacity to increase to 1,170,000 tons in H2/2022, reaching 1,595,000 in H1/2023, up from 880,000 tons today, leading to its prices declining ‘steeply’ from the beginning of 2023.
22.9 TW Global Cumulative Solar Capacity By 2050
Rethink Energy Analysts Expect Annual Solar Installations To Reach 625 GW In 2030
Monday, 11 Jul 2022
Come 2050, and the world will see its cumulative installed solar PV capacity growing to 22.9 TW led by China, the Indian sub-continent, US and Canada, Europe, and Latin America, with over 1 TW peak installation rate sustained through 2038 to 2041, estimates Rethink Energy.
Enough Polysilicon For 1,000 GW PV By 2030
Rethink Energy: 2022 To Be Second & Last Year Of Polysilicon Shortage
Tuesday, 08 Feb 2022
US based energy market research firm Rethink Energy believes 2022 will be the ‘second and last’ year of the current polysilicon shortage, and that by 2030 its global production capacity will be enough to manufacture PV worth of 1,000 GW.
