The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation of Ukraine (SAEE) says the number of households adopting solar in the country, increased by 32 MW or 29% in Q3/2018.

A feed-in-tariff scheme for residential PV installations up to 30 kW is the reason for the consistent growth of this segment in the Ukraine, according to SAEE. It says that by the end of June 2018, the cumulative residential PV capacity reached 89 MW.

Ukraine’s total solar power capacity is just about to cross the 1 GW milestone. According to official sources, the total installed capacity has touched 948 MW, while another source, IB Centre, believes the GW-level has been already reached.

The Ukraine had installed over 1.46 GW of renewable energy capacity, including solar, wind, small hydropower and biomass power plants by the end of June 2017. Out of this capacity, solar’s share stood at 705 MW.
