Team TaiyangNews is at Intersolar Europe 2024, a part of The smarter E Europe 2024 conference and exhibition, with more than 3,000 registered exhibitors lining up their latest products and services. Here are some of the latest offerings we came across at the event:
German battery storage and inverter solutions brand RCT Power GmbH had its latest single-phase system inverter for non-3-phase countries at Intersolar. It comes with 6 kW output power, 3 MPP inputs, LFP technology and power battery with a capacity of up to 23 kWh. The company's Managing Director, Sales, Service and & Finance, Dr. Eric Rüland calls it a smart hybrid inverter with 2 battery connections to enable higher solar self-consumption. By ensuring an option to add an additional power switch, in case of an electric outage, one can switch to solar battery power to enjoy uninterrupted supply. This product will be ready for the market by the end of the year with initial shipments. All countries with single-phase systems will be on its radar, starting with Italy, Spain and Greece markets.
TSUN's Country Manager for DACH and the Middle East, Serkan Pekerten, showcased the company's single-phase microinverter for residential applications that range from 300 W to 6,000 W. He particularly stressed on a single-phase solution with 3,000 W and 6,000 W, a microinverter 2000 that can work with any other battery solution. A hybrid storage unit with an integrated microinverter is also being displayed. A solar kit at home can also be upgraded with a portable 1 kW battery and storage solution to charge electronics on the go.
Portable power and renewable energy solutions company EcoFlow opened the exhibition with a new product for the residential solar segment. The PowerOcean Plus Three-Phase hybrid inverter offers up to 40 kW solar input and a maximum of 29.9 kW AC output. This 40 kW is equivalent to 200 sq. m. of the total rooftop size, said the company spokesperson. The manufacturer has used up to 4 PV strings in this offering for complex rooftop configurations. Speaking to TaiyangNews, the spokesperson said the company is offering a 15-year warranty on the PowerOcean Plus product as opposed to an industry norm of 10 years.
Andy Cao, heading the training and technical center at Solax Power, introduced the company's new residential energy storage system (ESS) solution, X3-IES. A plug-and-play solution for the whole home backup, Cao said this offering has strong backup capability with a switchover time of up to 10 minutes. The new product is VPP and microgrid ready that can manage various intelligent loads. Cao stressed that the product is also high on safety features. A modular installation, it can be installed within 30 minutes, thus reducing the time taken for its deployment.
For utility-scale, the company's new product X3-Grand has a range of 300 kW to 350 kW, with a 5-string MPPT. Cao also introduced the company's commercial and industrial (C&I) application product. Equipped with multiple sensors and real-time monitoring to trigger early warning in case of fire, it can withstand fire for 1.5 hours with its compartmentalized design. A maximum of 10 battery system solutions can support as a microgrid and off-grid system.
At Solis booth, their Director of Strategic Accounts for the US and Canada, Natasha Hood, and Head of Sales and Business Development for Latam, Marco Ricci, unveiled their new 3-phase inverter with a 3-phase configuration. Going from 30 kW to 50 kW, it will be launched in the US by the end of October 2024. An up-to-20 kW version will be available from July 2024, post which the higher versions will be launched globally.
Italy's residential storage systems company ATON Green Storage was also present at the event where ees Munich is held alongside Intersolar Europe. The company is presenting its latest launch, catering to the residential balcony application. A PV solar system, totally integrated to be put on balconies and railings comes as a pre-built system fitted with a microinverter. This plug-and-play solution can have a maximum output of up to 250 W/h.
Renac Power, a Chinese PV inverter and energy storage systems company, had its N3 Plus 3-phase hybrid inverter at the show. With 15 kW to 30 kW capacity, it is equipped with 3 MPPTs. Each string can shift 18 A PV panels. It can work off-grid, switching over within 10 milliseconds, making it a good option for residential installations. A new high-voltage battery and a smart electric vehicle charger in a plug-and-play form are also available, informed Renac's Product Manager Fisher Xu.
The Field Application Engineer in the International Sales & Marketing Division of lithium battery energy storage systems company Pylon Technologies (Pylontech), Victor San Roman, introduced the company's AC-coupled hybrid product Force H3X. Calling it an all-in-one solution with a battery, Roman says the inverter can work with an AC cable or in hybrid mode. It can be connected to the grid or to PV panels. A high-voltage solution, the application is majorly for the residential segment. Roman explained that the product has up to 35 kWh per rack, and can be expanded to 210 kWh. It can be charged within one hour. Right now, Pylontech is targeting the European market for the product and plans to launch it commercially in Q4/2024. Optim US M7, a new battery cabinet with a liquid cooling solution, is also planned to be launched by the end of this year.
Representing the Chinese energy storage solutions provider Alpha ESS Europe GmbH, Ajax Tang from its business development department said the company's H50 cabinet solution is the latest product to be launched in Europe. A 50 kW solution with a 50 kWh cabinet has an inverter, a backup and a battery cabinet function. It can enable parallel connections to more than 2 systems together based on client demand.
Headquartered in China, module-level power electronics (MLPE) manufacturer Hoymiles launched its new battery storage system MS-A2 a day before Intersolar. Calling it the 1st AC-coupled balcony power storage system in the market, the company's EU Pre-Sales Technical Support Manager Dr. José Sayago shared that it can connect a microinverter on the AC side directly to the battery. A 2nd connection to the grid helps avoid any complicated DC connection. It has a capacity of about 225 kWh and can be expanded. The battery also serves an off-grid function in case of an outage. A portable product, it can be connected via WiFi or Bluetooth and is compatible with all microinverters.
