Oman's Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (PWP) has issued a tender to appoint financial and commercial consultants for the development of three utility-scale solar independent power producer (IPP) projects.

The agency says the tender is part of the country's efforts to diversify its electricity generation mix by increasing the share of clean energy.

Under the plan, Nama PWP intends to procure three solar projects of 1 GW each, connected to the Main Interconnected System (MIS). All three facilities are expected to reach commercial operation by Q2 2030.

According to the tender notice, the selected consultant will provide financial and commercial advisory services during project development and support Nama PWP in conducting the competitive procurement process.

The tender documents will be available for purchase between July 28, 2026, and August 6, 2026. Bids must be submitted by September 10, 2026. Details of the call with tender number OPWP/2026/033 are available on Nama PWP’s tender portal.

Earlier this month, Nama PWP was seeking technical consultants to support its plans to develop 4 solar IPPs with 1 GW installed capacity each, with commercial operations to begin by Q2 2030 (see Oman Seeks Consultants For 4 GW Solar Project Plan).

Earlier, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) said the country aims to install over 5 GW of new solar PV capacity by 2030 (see Oman To Install Over 5 GW Solar PV Capacity By 2030).
