SECI seeking owners engineer for solar & storage capacity: The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is looking for a consultant to provide owners engineer (OE) services for 100 MW (AC) solar PV project with 160 MW DC capacity along with 40 MW/120 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) during design, construction, commissioning and operations of the facility as a Solar Power & Hybrid Technologies Project in India. For this project, SECI will use part of the World Bank loan and Clean Technology Fund towards the implementation of this project that will be located at Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh. OE will be expected to evaluate the engineering designs, work plans, action plans, field quality plants and site project monitoring phase followed by commissioning and O&M phase during induction phase. It will also work with SECI or the hired engineering firms to understand various project design sizing parameters, as per the tender specifications. Bids can be submitted latest till March 19, 2021.

In September 2020, SECI launched a 100 MW AC solar PV tender with 150 MWh BESS for Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh (see SECI Launches 100 MW AC PV+150 MWh Storage Tender).

PV project for Hyderabad Metro: Amp Energy India says it has commissioned one of the largest behind-the-meter solar project with 7.805 MW capacity for L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited. It has started supplying power to L&T in Hyderabad, Telangana for the metro project supply power to its 25 stations and 2 depots in the city. A public private partnership (PPP) project between Telangana government and Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), L&T Metro Rail has signed up for a 25-year PPA with Amp Energy for 11,300 MWh of clean power annually. It will enable the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project meet 15% of its total electricity consumption.

India-Bahrain meet for renewable energy cooperation: The 1st meeting of India-Bahrain Joint Working Group in the field of renewable energy was held in virtually on February 4, 2021, following a memorandum of understand (MoU) signed between the 2 nations to promote bilateral cooperation in the field. Both sides agreed on sharing experience, expertise and best practices as well as to strengthen deeper engagement in capacity building in the field of solar, wind and clean hydrogen in particular. They also agreed for focused cooperation between concerned agencies and private sector of the 2 nations.

NVVN tender for 2 MW AC solar capacity: The NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) has issued a notice inviting bids for design, construction, commissioning of a 2 MW AC grid connected ground mounted solar PV project at Agartala Airport in Tripura with net metering. Winner will also have to provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for 3 years post commissioning. Last date to submit bids is February 22, 2021, according to the tender details. Bidders from a country that shares a land border with India will be eligible to bid only if the company is registered with the Competent Authority, however it will not apply to bidders from those nations to which the Government of India has extended lines of credit or in which India is engaged in development projects.
