Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has found a new CEO in Darren Miller. He will start his innings at ARENA starting August 27, 2018. He will step into the shoes of outgoing CEO Ivor Frischknecht, who announced to leave the organization by August, back in March 2018 (see ARENA To Look For New CEO).

Holding a chartered accountant degree, Miller comes with over 25 years of experience across renewable energy, electricity retail, among other sectors. Till recently he worked as the CEO of Mojo Power that he co-founded in 2015. He also served as Director of Asset Finance at Sungevity Australia. Miller co-founded a technology and services company, Sumwise, which he ran as its CEO.

“Miller is a respected leader in the renewable energy and electricity sector with experience working with innovative technology companies, startups and in investment advisory roles so is ideally placed to lead ARENA as we support Australia’s energy transition,” said ARENA Chair, Martijn Wilder.

Miller has a three-year CEO contract with ARENA.

Frischknecht decided to step down after holding the fort for over six years. Wilder appreciated the efforts of the inaugural CEO of the agency and wished him well for his future endeavours.
