DAS Solar to buy silicon materials from Shangji Automation; Autowell and Jinko sign RMB 140 million deal; Daqo New Energy to sell 46,200 tons of silicon material; Shuangliang Eco-Energy to sell furnace equipment to LiHao; Yaoneng’s perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem cell sets new record.
DAS Solar and Shangji Automation partner for silicon materials: Chinese solar cell and module and cell producer DAS Solar through a WeChat communication said that it has signed a cooperation agreement with special equipment and ingot/wafer manufacturer, Shangji Automation. As per this agreement, DAS Solar will be purchasing n-type silicon products from Shangji Automation for RMB 10.2 billion ($1.41 billion) in the years 2023 and 2024.
Autowell & JinkoSolar ink RMB 140 million contract: In an announcement, automation equipment manufacturer Autowell Technology said that it has got into an equipment sales contract with Shangrao Jinko Photovoltaic Manufacturing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JinkoSolar. As per the contract, the company will sell all-in-one marking and welding machines to the subsidiaries for about RMB 140 million ($19.3 million). Recently, JinkoSolar has reported 26.1% efficiency for its high efficiency n-type monocrystalline silicon solar cell (see 26.1% Efficiency For JinkoSolar’s N-Type Silicon Cell)
Daqo New Energy signs RMB 13.9 billion silicon supply deal: Chinese polysilicon producer Daqo New Energy announced that together with its wholly-owned subsidiary Inner Mongolia DaQo New Energy it signed a silicon material supply deal with an unidentified customer. As per the deal, the customer will buy 46,200 tons of solar-grade primary polysilicon from them for a period ranging from 2023 to 2027. Basing it on the latest average price of polysilicon dense materials, the estimated purchase amount will be about RMB 13.9 billion ($1.93 billion). Recently, Shuangliang Eco-Energy had struck a deal to buy 155,300 tons silicon materials from Daqo New Energy (see China PV News Snippets)
Shuangliang Eco-Energy to sell furnace equipment to LiHao: China headquartered Shuangliang Eco-Energy said that its holding subsidiary Jiangsu Shuangliang New Energy Equipment will be selling multiple pairs of rod reduction furnaces to silicon producer LiHao Semiconductor, which started the first phase of 50,000 tons of a 200,000 ton silicon factory in Qinghai in end of July (see China PV News Snippets). The transaction value is pegged at RMB 254.7 million ($35.28 million).
New record for Yaoneng’s perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem cell: As per China Metrology Institute’s test and certification report, Beijing Yaoneng Technology has reached a conversion efficiency of 30.83% for a 1 cm2 large perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem cell device. Last week, another Chinese company, Wuxi UtmoLight announced it achieved 18.2% efficiency for its perovskite solar module over a large area of 756 cm² (see 18.2% Efficiency For Large Size Perovskite Solar Module).
