EGing PV to raise RMB 1.3 billion for solar module facility: Solar photovoltaic products developer EGing PV announced that it plans to issue about 352 million shares to the tune of RMB 1.3 billion ($0.19 billion). The raised funds will be used towards its 5 GW high-efficiency solar module facility in Changzhou, and also to pay off the interest liabilities. Construction for Eging PV’s 5 GW facility had started in March 2022 (see China PV News Snippets).

Construction begins for GCL Integration Wuhu 20 GW high-efficiency cell facility: Chinese solar PV cell and module manufacturer GCL Integration has begun construction of the first phase of its 20 GW high-efficiency TOPCON facility in Wuhu, local media reports said. With an investment of RMB 8 billion ($1.16 billion), the construction of the facility is split into two phases of 10 GW each. The first phase is expected to be completed by July this year, and may achieve an annual output of over RMB 10 billion ($1.4 billion). For the second phase, the company intends to raise further funds through non-public offering of shares.

Huaneng Clean Energy develops 2,000V DC PV inverter: Clean energy technology research and development institution directly under China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd, Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute, said via WeChat it has independently developed a high-voltage photovoltaic inverter (HNPVD-MV). The company expects this to be a major breakthrough in China’s photovoltaic inverters, especially in the field of high-voltage, large-capacity grid-connected technology. The photovoltaic inverter can increase the DC voltage to more than ,2000 V, breaking through the core technologies of high-efficiency multi-stage coupling, high-voltage, high-power density, and wide-range grid-connected operation, the company went on to add.

Astronergy’s 8 GW cell & 12 GW module facility starts construction: Over a WeChat communication, PV module manufacturer Astronergy, said that it held the commencement ceremony for its 8 GW high-efficiency cell and 12 GW module facilities in Jiaxing City in Zhejiang Province. Keeping pace with the new energy development, Astronergy has been proactively expanding production and increasing efficiency. The plan is to achieve by the end of this year 40 GW high-efficiency cell production capacity and 48 GW module production capacity.
