• Encavis has announced signing a 10-year solar PPA for its 300 MW solar power plant in Spain
  • An international leading energy company with operations in more than 40 nations whose identity hasn’t been revealed will purchase power from the Talayuela Solar Park
  • Under the PPA, the company will purchase 4,300 GWh of clean power from the 300 MW project once it is commissioned in Q3/2020
  • In Spain’s Murcia, Enel Green Power says it has commissioned 85 MW Totana Solar Project

There’s news on two major multi-MW solar developments in Spain. German renewable energy company Encavis AG has secured an unidentified solar power off-taker from its 300 MW Talayuela Solar Park. The two have signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA). The second development relates to Enel Green Power commissioning the 85 MW Totana Photovoltaic Solar Plant in Spain’s Murcia region.

Encavis introduces the buyer as a leading international energy company with an investment grade credit rating and operations in over 40 nations. It will purchase 4,300 GWh of clean power to be generated by one of the largest solar parks in Europe being developed without state subsidies. The German company became a 80% shareholder in the Talayuela Solar Park after acquiring the stake from Great Britain’s Solarcentury (see Encavis Acquires Stake In 300 MW Spanish Plant).

The 300 MW plant is expected to start commercial operations in Q3/2020 and Encavis is hoping the project to generate around €25 million ($27.5 million) in annual sales in the first full year of its operation.

Enel Green Power 85 MW Totana Photovoltaic Solar Plant in Spain’s Murcia region is one of the seven solar projects the Italian company won in the third renewable energy auction of July 2017.

The 85 MW project was built with an investment of €59 million ($65 million) and 248,000 modules. Having achieved grid connection, it is expected to generate more than 150 GWh of clean power annually. Construction on the project site started in September 2018 (see Enel Breaks Ground On 84.7 MW PV Project In Spain).
